Also, the Barclays center is too small to hold an NHL team by NHL standards. They aren't moving there. NHL is making it sound like a viable option to wake up the idiots in Nassau and Hempstead. Which it seems to have done.

Nabby has won 300. Montoya has 38 starts. Not even half a season. I'm not jumping on the Montoya is great wagon in that few starts. The guy gives up a million softies. If management believed in him Poulin wouldn't have played Tuesday night and he wouldnt have sat out three weeks in October after a decent start.

I think the isles as a team are playing better right now, then say at the beginning of the year when Montoya was getting the lions share of playing time.

It was my understanding that Montoya was hurt........which is why he sat out. Also, i believe i read that Poulin was called up because Montoya was hurt, and he got the start because they wanted to give Nabakov a night off.

My point is that if al Montoya is our starting goalie next season, we won't make the playoffs. He will be by far the worst and inexperienced goalie in our division and maybe only Tampa would have poorer goaltending in the conference assuming they don't make a move. He will get outplayed by the opponents goalie most games. Is he terrible? No, but to win you need very good goaltending. He places 3 good games, and then has an awful game where goals get passed him from the blue line like its nothing. He sits too far back in his net and doesnt control rebounds and handles net pressure terribly. Yes, this is just my opinion but if he was great, he would have found a team before last year when we were desperate for a body.

Im not thrilled with nabby either. Just would rather have him then Montoya. What the isles really need is either Poulin or nilsson to become a true starter. But I think nabby gives us best chance to win and I don't care anymore what he did. We have been crappy long enough. I just want to see wins

But he wouldn't necessarily be buying for this year, but for the future. Considering how hard it is to get free agents to sign here the next best way is to trade for guys who are already under contract.

Truth is, with the team in Nassau right now, they only draw 10K at most for most games. And that's being right in the thick of convenience for Nassau and Suffolk fans. I know, the team has sucked for a while so nobody goes to the games, but I really don't think the attendance will be any worse than it already does by moving to Bklyn and will likely be even better, even if the team stays crappy. No doubt, driving to the games will be rough, but the drive home won't be. Truth is, fans can take a train from Mineola or whereever, get to Jamaica and its a short shot to the Atlantic Ave. station from Jamaica. The stadium is walking distance from the LIRR. Its not the end of the world for Nassau and Suffolk residents.

It certainly would be easier to drive to Queens but I think Brooklyn actually ends up being an easier commute from Nassau and Suffolk via mass transit than Queens does unless you live near the Port Washington line.

I think we have a better chance of seeing Goldie "the guy who wears the gold wig at the games" wearing a Lundqvist jersey than the isles getting Parise

The NHL has no restrictions regarding the seating capacity of an NHL Arena. If we were to move to Brooklyn. I'm sure there would be more corporate sales in Brooklyn then what we have in Nassau. Making the Brooklyn location more profitable IMO.

Multiply 1730 times a conservative 75 dollar AVERAGE ticket price times 41 games a year and you get about 5.3 million a year less if the place is sold out on ticket sales. If those 1730 people bought 40 bucks worth of food/beer/soda/team store stuff thats about 2.8 million.
