I still wouldn't trade Cody for Tavares.

I haven't seen much of him, but I would assume not. Torres is a pretty special hitting talent, with his speed and explosive impacts. Bitz is probably just a big dude like Alberts with more edge, slightly better hand and skating.

The Canucks keep bringing guys that hit but eventually they stop hitting here. I think the coaches put so much emphasis on coverage and skating that our hitters are reduced to one or two smart hits a game. I bet it wouldnt be any different for Bitz eventually.

I still beleive hey should have kept Torres this summer. The amount of turnovers he creates because of rubber necking opponants would be gobbled up by Cody who knows what to do with the puck. Unlike Malholtra last year.

I hope Gillis has several plans to toughen up this team in a few departments. He must...because this team is not as big and less physical than last season's. It would be a foolish step backwards....Gillis wouldnt make it easy on himself from here on in. It would be open season.

Yeah, Torres was great last year. And it's not like the money he got was more than he was worth. But I guess Gillis really likes bargains and we're right up against the cap as it is.

It is annoying to have one of the players you want back signed for more by a bankrupted league run franchise though.

Because of an"illness". Hopefully his infection hasn't come back. Pisses me off that we have to play a defensman at forward rather than calling up someone who deserves a game. Schroeder would have been a good choice to play on that 2nd line, especially against Detroit.

I can't see the Canucks or Wings doing business with them. No way either of these three teams will be making trades with each other and you can add Chicago in there as well.
