kuli had 36 pts before mac came, and Grabo had 35pts,, but was hurt alot.. so you point is hard to see. If Kuli and Grabo had great chemistry mac didnt hurt it he improved it. - Arctic_AARDVARK
He didn't hurt it, but those two hadn't played a full season together. Their chemistry became apparent during the post deadline push, which is why the Kessel Bozak Kulemin line got dismantled. And btw, MacArthur's stats before joining those two weren't as good as theirs before joining him. And he's not as good defensively. You can put a bunch of different guys in his spot, and they'd do well. He's not a bad player, but he's not the driving force on that line. |

Cherry and Burke, you mean Don Cherry? wait what happened, what i miss????? - Sheppy99
It's more to do with Burke going to the CBC and trying to get Cherry to change his tune. The demand went public and had bitten Burke in the Butt. Cherry said that Burke did this on purpose to deflect attention away from the play of the team, the status of Wilson and told him, to get in line if he want to shut him up.
I'll find the main link to the story....
But VERY ODD that TSN does not have this on EVERY page. |

Standings end of season:
1. NY
2. BOS
3. WAS
4. PHI
5. PIT
6. TOR
7. NJ
8. FLA
Ottawa falls out. They will battle either Was or Fla for the last spot (IMO will be Florida). |
|
|
|
What's everyone's ballpark final 8 in the East?
I'm thinking....
1.NYR
2.BOS
3. FLA/WAS (division leading BS)
4. PITS
5. PHI
6. TOR
7. NJD
8. FLA/WAS
Edit: had NYR twice. - clarkysduster
would love to face the rangers. |

Something about Cherry making fun on Wilson on air.
I don't get it, he's a pretty damn good coach but it just seems like the thing is to just rip the guy as much as possible. - Holy_GM
I love Burkie, but the lengths he goes to defend Wilson boggle my mind.
His friendship with Wilson is clouding his judgment and holding his team back. I don't understand why Cherry isn't allowed to be critical of a coach who hasn't done a thing for this team in 4 seasons.
If there's one thing that's bothered me about Burke's time here, it's been his blind loyalty to his buddy, despite the lack-lustre results. It's a shame because Burke's got a good thing going here with this team. |

This is probably going to be one of the most boring Free agent summers in a long time.......
Player 2011-12 Team 11-12 Cap Hit
Daymond Langkow Phoenix Coyotes $4,500,000
Tuomo Ruutu Carolina Hurricanes $3,800,000
Jarret Stoll Los Angeles Kings $3,600,000
Jochen Hecht Buffalo Sabres $3,525,000
Olli Jokinen Calgary Flames $3,000,000
Mikhail Grabovski Toronto Maple Leafs $2,900,000
Those are your top upcoming FA's..........
FA signings rarely improve your team anyways but I still enjoy Free Agent day on TSN. Not this summer |

Leafs played a good solid D game and showed a competitive flash that we haven't seen here in awhile. They needed to prove they could rebound from that tough loss. They out played Pittsburg last night, but lost because of some bad bounces. Heart game tonight.
Grabo's kids are not in school right now, so it's not that hard to move. Nobodies wife is going to object to gaining an extra million or more per year to move away from home, and family. They'll get over it. Hope he stays, but doubt it will happen.
Need to stop teams from bashing around Lupul and Kessel. Someone should teach them how to bail out of a big hit and make the opposing players think about crashing them. Maybe one of our Dmen could step up, and let others know it is not tolerated!
Tonight's win reflects on success in tight games, which is a type of play a playoff team needs, but not sure we can go deep into the playoffs this year. Still in favour of trading for the future. Immediate future but still looking at the future. Rich people get rich by bucking the trend. Sell when others believe you to be buyers, strengthens your bargaining position, specially when you have valuable assets others would want for their playoff drive.

Those should explain everything. - Beatle_john
So basically Cherry's love affair with zigomantis and Kadri's magic hands isn't exactly winning the heart of Brian Burke?
I love ya Burkey but we don't live in an American police state where you can censor people. Even though Cherry is a media personality, he is still a fan of the Leafs and aloud to have an opinion. It's his opinions that allow him to have a show called Coaches corner.
I don't always agree with everything Cherry says but here Burke, you're out of line.
Edit: N/m, just read the other article and it's about Wilson not applauding troops or something. Oh jesus.......... |

I guess you could say that. Grabo probably is.. Mac wears his heart on his sleeve. You can tell when he gets pissed off. Grabo got run over by Letang tonight, Mac woulda got up and punched him out. We need that feistyness. Mac could be the new Tucker if he throws his weight around more. He'll never be the same as Tucker but could resemble him a bit |

I miss those good ole fights.. Only good one this year was when brown destroyed newbury - Arctic_AARDVARK
Me too, me too. Yep that was a good one and I was hoping that someone on Pens would drop gloves with him. He's total package: can skate, can shoot, forechecks like a machine, can blocks shots, has sound positional game, can score when he gets the chance and can beat the crap outa anyone. Mike Brown is the Total Package (insert Randy Marsh's voice from South Park) |

And that hit was to the head to just wasn't forcefuk enough to cause damage and I wished Brown took him out. I like Letang but he acts like a total POS and whines all the time, he can give em out but he doesn't like to be on the receiving end. Douche! |
