Soooooo...Dupuis for Carter?
We need a #1 centre, they need a PK specialist!
Of course, we are taking on a lot of salary, so they'd have to add a lil' sumthin-sumthin to sweeten the deal... - Atomic Wedgie
you want to trade our PK specialist for an injury prone forward?!
they'd have to toss in their first rounder at least

with grabo's agent in town, and with him saying grabo wants to stay and loves it here and his first choice is toronto, and burke saying a week ago that leafs and grabo's agent would continue talk. i can rely see a 4 year deal at $16-$17 million.

leafs no longer 30th for PK.. they are 29th, columbus is now 30th!!

In all fairness to the Leafs, I could put a positive spin on it by saying "they haven't given up a PP goal in 2012.
And this is what I have been saying all 2012 now (and I know people just thought I was hatin' on Monster): the Leafs are finally playing smart hockey. No dumb penalties. More responsible in their own ends.
That's why the Monster has looked a lot better.
And that's how Reimer can come in and post a shut-out last night.
Not saying he didn't play well last night - just saying the conditions are finally right so that the goalies aren't being hung out to dry.
Especially on the PK. |

I broke out the original Rainbow Six on my laptop not too long ago...I seem to enjoy playing retro games more than a lot of the newer ones. |

i couldnt agree more
-less powerplays
-less huge chances (used to give up like 3 break aways a game)
-smarter play all round

agree whole heartedly but something else to consider
as leaf fans we are simply used to having superstar goaltending bail out defensive lapses continuously.. however.. thats not a good thing
a goalie should only have to make 4 or 5 key saves per game, not 15-20
so its never really been the goalies who were at fault.. it was the defensive play of the skaters in front of them.. this is something i honestly believe
so now that the leafs are actually playing like an NHL squad defensively (something we havent seen since the pat burns era..which may explain why potvin was so good duiring that time and didnt do much of anything the rest of his career) it helps pad the goaltenders stats as well |

Oh definitely. Although, I will argue that Toskala was just flat out terrible. I mean come on, a flip in from the other teams end?? REALLY? |
