Agreed, but the sad thing is I think we have the right guys on defense the problem is solely up front.
- sabresfandan

This defense corps is fine with a competent forward group. When you have guys like Myers, Ehrhoff, and Leopold cutting to the net on rushes, you know they're intentionally trying to compensate for ineptitude up front (yes, there's a double meaning there).

Be as passive aggressive as as you want.

No racial slurs or otherwise derogatory comments based on the target's assumed race, religion, gender, country, sexual orientation, or language. This goes not only for posters and bloggers but for players, management, officials, their families, and others in the public eye. This is a hockey forum for hockey discussion, take hate speech elsewhere.

It's right there.

He said that Roy had to bury that late chance. I guess you could call it "calling him out", but it really wasn't anything earth shattering. I'm sure Roy, and anyone else, would stay the same.

They're not making the playoffs, but I can't blame them for trying to. I understand that finishing in 10th or so, and 3 points out, gives you a worse draft pick, and accomplishes next to nothing, but I can't bring myself to root for my team to lose for a better draft pick. It just isn't much fun. I look at it as "baby steps". They were entertaining last night and tonight (despite the score). Now, get a couple wins and see what happens.

Teams like Boston and others have already proven, if you really want a guy in the draft, you can trade up for him without giving up an arm and a leg. Not getting a lottery pick, unless there's a Crosby available (which there isn't), means very little to me.

Yakupov is sick... Best prospect since Crosby...
He dominated in europe & had the sense to come over to n.america to play to get a head start on what it'd be like in the NHL...
IMO, his fantastic play in the ohl makes him as close to a "future stud" as you'll see

goose is a 4th liner

if he wants more then 1.5 mil then bye bye

truth be told, he should be moved at the deadline, then resign here on july 1st

like Tkachuk did

- homiedclown

I think he s a third liner and one of the best faceoff men in the league as well as adds toughness and pk ability.I belive anyone wishing to make a playoff push would be licking thier chops to pick him up for depth and pk time.Whats 1.5 for all that ?That being said the only reason Id trade for a third line center. We have plenty of guys who could fill the third line center spot. Most of our first and second line.

Gragnani isn't even as bad as people say he is. While +/- isn't a tell all stat, you have to be doing something right to have his stats. His problem is, when he does make mistakes, they're at the worst possible time. That being said, if you can get something for him, go for it. However, he's no exception to the rule. He's being victimized by bad forward play.

In my opinion Gragnani would be the 8th d-man when McNabb is back so yeah I'd like to put him in a packaged deal.

Time to move Staff and Roy for someone like Getzlaf
- buffalo 1

What is with all this getzlaf-talk?
He's playing crappy this year too...
8g-28a-36pts, -16
Is that really worth Roy AND stafford?
Plus, he's going to need a new big $$$ deal after next year
What if he gets hurt & misses time like he has the past 2 seasons?
Would u be comfortable giving him the 6-7mil long-term deal he will likely demand?
I get that ppl are down on staff & sick of roy... But whatever trades we do make still need to be smart ones
