of course i will. let's be serious.
- hammarby31

key to winning at home in the second half is the pk. despite how boring last night was, i'm pretty encouraged that it's a good first step. they've averaged 3.5 gpg at home this year. if they can get the home pk up significantly from 78.8%, the results will change and teams will fear playing here again.

i couldn't see who it was when he scored - and don't know a thing about him - but when i saw the celebration i turned to nastyflyergirl and said "guarantee that's his first goal of the season. sadly i was right. and truthfully, i thought the goal wasn't great. nice shot, but i want to see bryz make that stop. he had an excellent game though.
- hammarby31

$10 million goalies do need to make that stop. But, it was another egregious breakdown and he couldn't commit too soon because there was another guy crashing the net, and the shot was wide open from a great shooting spot. Thorburn had time to Tweet and receive responses between the time he got the puck and shot it.

All that said, you want your $10 million goalie to make more of those saves.

You two mushes were on hand last night? Who is the black cat, and who is the broken mirror? I blame you two for the ineptitude at home.

Was Thorburn's first goal in 59 games. It could have been stopped. Bryzgalov was fine, and was not to blame at all for the loss, I thought Pavelec was better though.

My mistake. I thought you meant the Pens signed Neal to a 4 year contract at 4.6 per.
- PLindbergh31

I wish we could get him for 4.6 per year. Him and Malkin are gold.

Pretty sure Thorburn has 6 of his 9 career goals vs. the Flyers
- bradleyc4

4 of his 29 career against us. more than he's scored against any other team.

i agree, their home pk needs to improve significantly. i want more energy and more physical play at home as well. the building is lifeless because the team is lifeless. i don't understand it.

He had a wicked shot and scored a lot of goals. Sounds like a sniper to me.
- MBFlyerfan

Ok. Carter was a pretty good regular season sniper.

Yeah, hoping he gets us a Rupp/net front presence/big body forward this year. We have good many young puck moving d men (Whitney and Gogo last two years were traded away) so time will tell if he moves them.

This would be more Philadelphian if the stick guy on the left proceeded to kick righty stick guy while he was down

yeah, the juice is there against rivals and quality competition, but players need to find a way to play with that similar intensity against the jets, isles, etc.

I was impressed with Oduya last night, guy has been historically a Flyers killer, I was at a game 4 years ago when he had 4 points against the Flyers and the Devils scored 6 PP goals. I wouldn't mind seeing the Flyers try and get him.

Wasn't talking about the Campbell play at all. Campbell made a HELL of a play and if it wasn't deflected, I'm pretty sure there is a game 7. What I'm talking about is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krVCjnhVokA or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sUBCQI6hWgE or even http://www.youtube.com/wa...1&list=PL8CFE5F70C55B1F84.

I'm sorry, but I get it happening once and MAAAAYYBBEE twice. But three times!?!?! And we are arguing that he's a sniper? Plus, these are just the tip of the Iceberg. Come on. Again, kudos to Carter for putting himself in prime scoring positions, but let's not sully a guy like Mike Bossy, a true sniper, by saying the guy who consistently shoots more than everyone else scores more goals.

- Flyers1218

We need to add those vids to the Carter discussion FAQ.

I actually wouldn't mind this. He's a player I hate to watch us play against for the reason you state.

He also seemed to be battling harder. I was encouraged, and LOVED that he put up a doughnut in the first period.

- MBFlyerfan

I was cheering like mad when he stopped the second shootout shot.. i said.. can we actually win this? Then the team forgot to score. weee.

Our futility in these shootouts WILL cost us at some point. I am not a fan of them, but it's the game and we have to at least break even with the extra point.

He's a UFA after this season, have to think he would be available. Not sure what the price would be, but I think he would be a sound addition.
