That's one instance where it was a good try for Briere to go 5-hole. End of the period on choppy ice, on an outdoor rink. I bet he was worried to try and deek, and lose control of the puck and not get a shot off.
- PLindbergh31

Possibly. But he telegraphed it from St. John's Newfoundland to Paris, France.

5-hole. If I was a shooter I would almost never try that. Very little margin of error. Majority of times a shooter goes 5-hole, he clanks the puck of the pillows.

btw, flyers outshot the rangers 47-25 in that game. and sebastian caron was our backup.

Yeah he did. Not very many options if he didn't try and deek. I think Lundqvist knew it was too risky for Briere to try a move, and he basically stood his ground and Briere shot it right into his stick.

Still think Giroux should have taken the penalty shot.

I remember Caron was the backup. He was signed off the street or some poop. Backlund and Leighton were injured.

No, I think we've had quite a few against both Rangers backups and Devils backups. And they stoned us. It's weird.
- bodiva88

with the devils, that's really only been since hedberg arrived. marty started like 60 straight against the flyers or some crazy number like that.

Didn't one of those guys that signed for $100 play in a game at MSG? I vaguely remember that. His name escapes me at the moment. A college player from Colgate is in my memory.

Jeff Ruland hit a turn around jumper over Dave Corzine at the buzzer.

If there was an NBA game being played in my backyard, I would close the blinds.

Why do people think Grossman from DAL might be available? DAL would be crazy to be sellers. They are in the race. Plus I would want and think they would rather trade Souray (higher trade value) more.

Bill Meltzer said earlier this year in one of his blogs that he thought Grossman wouldn't be available. He's pretty tuned into the Stars.

I used to watch. I stopped when the whole Iverson thing blew up. Was happy to see the Mavs get one though.

Don't like.

There are 3 or 4 other King defenseman that would help the Flyers more then him.
Matt Greene fits the need more then JJ.

- Marc D

JJ would be a great fit for us

I did watch the Finals last year. Wanted to see Lebron come up smaller than Mini Me. Wasn't disappointed.

Sorry to rehash the Jack Johnson talk but I agree with MJL that his skills would be intriguing. If Carle is out the door then he would be a very nice replacement (not as good in his own end but better on the PP). What I don't like about JJ is that he will demand a high return. I would welcome him for picks and prospects, which ain't gonna happen.

BTW: who beat up Richards? I was watching DAL get an ass whoopen but winning against ANA.

He would crumble under the pressure of playing in Philly and take over Shelley's role on this board.
