So Toronto gives up Schenn and their 1st for Voracek and our 2nd?

The phenoms are not phenomenating. Trade them.
- bradleyc4

Remember, if you trade somebody, it means they are a bad player. Except Wayne Gretzky, because his contract was expensive.

jvr will be that guy

wait... jvr for carter!!

- Crimsoninja

I hope you're right. I'm not at all in favor of moving him. JvR is a much different situation then Richards, Carter and Lupul as far as long term and extended contract situations go. JvR is still very young, big and has the tools to become better then all 3 of the players I've named.

Would like for that luck to hit in Philly.

As long as Hammarby and Nastyflyergirl are attending games, the only luck will be bad luck.

Two mushes!

Crazy thought.

Jake Voracek has been fantastic and it's not like we're struggling scoring but Carter's struggles to stay healthy aside this season, I look towards what he's done here the past 6 seasons. If the Jackets were willing, I would send Voracek back to the Jackets in a heartbeat for Carter just to have a big center who can win faceoffs and a guy who shoots first.

Hartnell is the Flyers most consistent goal scorer right now. Giroux will score more when he learns to be a little more unselfish. Goal scoring isn't an issue when the Flyers have their lineup in tact, preventing goals is the much bigger issue.
- PLindbergh31

Yes but Hartnell could also either be extended beyond 2013 or be lost to us.

You would think the Flyers expect Schenn, Couturier, Read, and JvR to all be guys who can put the puck in the net.

I'm not saying they won't be. Even when we had a young line up filled with names like Richards, Carter, Hartnell, Lupul, Upshall, Coburn and Carle, they could all score but Carter was the only real pyre goal scorer. Gagne could score but I'm talking youth for the future.

Definitely. Goal prevention should be the point of focus with the Flyers. They allow far too many goals against.

Having a "pure goal scorer" does what for this current team?

They have bigger issues to deal with than scoring (getting a pure goal scorer).

Defense would be my first priority.

I would think Toronto. Even NHL12 would laugh at this trade, shut itself off, and send itself back to the store.

One of my coworkers just got this for her boys' room (which is being redone in an all Flyers theme). Her husband thinks it's ridiculous to spend this much on a lighting fixture. I agree. And yet. It is SO COOL.

Hmm, would look great over the kitchen table. Not sure if wifey would agree though.....

Right now the the issue is defense. I'll say again, for the future. We've traded away Carter and Jagr isn't a long term solution.

I don't know. He was one of the best conditioned guys on the team year after year. That doesn't seem to me to be the MO of a guy who didn't have his priorities straight.

I named the other players that will be very good at scoring in the future.

Read, Giroux, JvR, Schenn, and Couturier.

Yep, every year he was at the top or near the top of the annual team fitness challenge. Doesn't sound like a guy who didnt have his priorities straight. Plus he came back early from multiple serious injuries in multiple years in the playoffs. That doesn't sound like a guy who didn't have his priorities straight. He signed a cap friendly deal because he loved playing here. Doesn't sound like a guy who didn't have his priorities straight.

I'm tired of this bullpoop. Carter definitely had his issues, but I'm tired of (frank)ing idiots running him down on bullpoop theories and baseless fact less accusations. It just makes them look STUPID.

I've named 5 players. Everyone brings something to the table on a team but is Stamkos not important for the Bolts? Is Kessel not important to the Leafs? We all seem to have this idea of doing something by comity rather then having a guy who's specialty in that specific field. No enforcer, we could have team toughness. No pure shooter, we can have everyone score. I feel guys like Gagne and Carter have worked out very well here in the past.

Would you rather have Carter or Couturier and Voracek? Ill take the other two who cost less and will have more points then Carter.

You have to talk to Homer (GM) who obviously didnt feel it was that important to keep the sniper.
