Well, there's a decent amount of gritty dmen to be had, but the only guy being loudly shopped that fits the bill for forwards is Ruutu, and I have a feeling he will cost an arm and a leg. - Morris
Moen, think more guys like that. They don't have to be scorers, just guys who are tough to play against up and down the ice.
Ruutu is not coming back to Chicago anyway. |

Has anyone heard an update regarding RNH? When is he supposed to play again? - BuffaJoe
I thought I read he was practicing in a contact jersey today. If so any day would be my guess. |

I read yesterday on the Oilers website that Nuge had a bit of a setback and it could be 10-14 days still. |

He had the flu so that kinda got things going in regards to a set back.
Gregor's latest article
Nugent-Hopkins wants to play on Thursday, and while Renney wouldn't commit to Thursday, he said you can expect the 2011 first overall pick back very soon. Gilbert's ankle is getting better and today was the first day he didn't tweak it while skating, but he won't play on this homestand. |

It's all good. I think I'd faint if the Oilers had everyone healthy for once. |

dont need or want frolik.
especially with that contract. stupid idea, even for peckham at the moment.
we need defencemen, not underachieving euro wingers.
also,
petry still makes his mistakes and will probably continue to the rest of the season,
but since his icetime has been forced to increase, you can cleary see his confidence syrocketing.
he can carry the puck, hes an exceptionally smooth skater, is starting to use his shot, doesnt look overewhelmed out there, and his first pass or set up pass is improving (still where most of his mistakes occur).
hes improving drastically and I see a very valuable player going forward.
doesnt everybody else? just asking, as i still see lots of hate and trade petry comments floating around. |

Petry looked terrible to me early in the season. The more he plays, the better he plays. He'll be a solid player for the Oilers for a bunch of years. He's learning, just like half of the roster is. He'll be fine and I can't see the Oilers dealing him. |

Very happy for Cornet that he's getting a chance finally. I'm not convinced he isn't Alex Giroux 2.0. But still, it's time give the guy the puck to see what happens. You never know. |

The big difference is Cornet is a lot younger and has improved and can/will still improve. Giroux on the other hand was what he was and wasn't going to change. |

He's been a nice surprise for a late round pick. If we're lucky we could have another Ryan Jones. |

Hmm weird. Considering most Leaf fans live in the most prosperous city in Canada you would think they're on average pretty bright... Oh well, have fun in Alberta! - SameOld

Cornets career in the NHL will be played out in its entirety during the month of February so don't miss a moment of it. He is terrible. |

I'm surprised they have Chucky on a line with Horcoff and Hemsky instead of putting him with Gags and Eberle. |

Agreed, Cornet should be on the 4th line. But then again with Belanger on the PP nothing surprises me anymore. May as well ice a line of Belanger, Hordi, Petrell, Sutton, and Peckham as the first PP unit. Then pull the goalie and throw out Horcoff as the go-to guy. |

Cornet on the 4th line makes little sense. It's about as smart as Omark or PRV there. |

The Blum rumors last season were Ladislav Smid for Blum. No one was talking about Hemsky for Blum and a 1st at any point during this season.
Thanks for coming out. - Maxbone
You're a genius!
You took a player of obvious interest (Blum) and simply swapped the players rumored to be moved (Smid for Hemsky).
Funny how when you're throwing poop to the wall and people call you on it, you're 'just joking.' But then you come to a general conclusion and insist that you're the brain trust on par with NHL experts and it's 'easy.'
Your desperate pleas for attention are getting sadder. |
