I think its finale is still the highest rated TV show of all time.

The stupid poop I say carries some weight round these parts.

One cant assume the Flyers stretch in the room before games. None of us have access.

- flyer_nutter

Stretching is really a radical controversial Medical practice. There's been a lot of studies done on it. But no one has come up with a fool proof answer to whether it is beneficial to stretch before playing a game of Hockey, or practicing. So it's understandable why the Flyers haven't instituted it into the physical fitness regimen for their players

The 2010 Superbowl had more viewers, but only because more people have TV's. Something like 77% of all TV's were tuned to MASH for that episode. Ridiculous when you think about it.

I remember watching it with my parents. It was HUGE.

"Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" was the final episode of M*A*S*H. Special television sets were placed in PX parking lots, auditoriums, and dayrooms of the US Army in Korea so that military personnel could watch that episode; this in spite of 14 hours' time zone difference with the east coast of the US. The episode aired on February 28, 1983, and was 2½ hours long. The episode got a Nielsen rating of 60.2 and 77 share, translating into nearly 125 million Americans watching that night, which established it as the most watched broadcast in United States television history. Some sources say that the 2010 Super Bowl broke the record in absolute viewers (but not share or ratings).[17] However, according to a New York Times article from 1983, the final episode of M*A*S*H had an astonishing 125 million viewers

Considering the US population in 1983 was approx 233,792,000. That is huge.

Best decision imo, especially when you're a team that's prone to allowing early goals
