There will be EK factors that determine who is the buyer and who is the seller, such ekfactors as what gm sweats the most, which gm enjoys chocolate, how much pressure one gm needs to take a poop, ect.

I do want MPS, but if you're selling him, its because his value has dropped significantly.. Last year you guys wouldnt have dreamed about trading him..

I'd do Schenn + Lombo + Komi for MPS + Horcoff + 3rd
You get 2 D you can easily fit into your top 4 in Komi and Schenn, you eat Lombo andKomis salary for 2 years, we eat Horcoff's salary for the next 4 years (  ), but get a 3rd because of it.
Meanwhile Kopmi and Lombo's salaries are off the books when you need to resign Hall, RNH, Eberle, etc...

I think they need to countinue down the path they are going and see what kind of draft pick they get before they decide on that.
There are only 2 defenseman signed for next year and 2RFAs worth signing, so a smart gm (hopefully new), could revamp the D this off season.
Hopefully the new coach countinues to go with the high energy forchecking system that Cunneyworth has implemented and you go from there.
It is pretty hard to blow something up when you have immoveable contracts, so what exactly were you suggestion a blow up would be? |

You could probably get some interest form the Oilers with Schenn and Komi, but offloading 2 of your contract problems on them is most liekly a no.
Most oiler fans are fine with Horcoff now as he has settled back into the role he was meant to play.(3rd liner)
Magnus stock has not dropped, he is just getting forgotten about, and trading him would be a favor to him and to whoever he gets traded too.
Schenn is the one whos stock has dropped in the leaf fan(some) eyes. Not the other way around. But i like how you tried to switch that around. |

Obviously I see no reason to move Price or Subban, those are your two biggest pieces.
Depending on the value, I would not shy away from moving anyone else if I was doing a coomplete rebuild.
Players I would target:

NSH: Blum, could be had for a reasonably priced forward contract that is producing, Start with Eller?
CGY: They seem to want to cling to a playoff spot, so why not make a run at Bartschi? Give them Playoff depth, and run away laughing. |
