Hmm, hard to say, i will just say, id take either on my team yesterday, but if i had only one player to build around, it would be Malkin, even over Stammer. Is it likely that stays the same in a few years though? Likely not, Stammer has the edge of age to his advantage, and is likely only going to get better. - shinebox
I assume you mean a healthy Sid is out of the equation. Malkin is a beast, especially when Sid is out of the picture. I still like Toews as a guy to build a team around, he has that incredible determination to win at all costs.
Lupul is a douche I loved watching Nathan Gerbe punch him in the face, he is overachieving this year. - sabresfandan
haha yeah definitely overachieving. Definitely not being healthy playing top line minutes... What was the guy like a 7th round pick or something.... No potential
Any kind of deal to Nashville to get Colin Wilson would be great, same as a deal to swing Bozak plus for Sutter off Carolina. Good young centers who might be available for the right price. Also both have size and strength. Kulemin and a 1st would surely lock up Jordan Staal... So i think we can grab a 1st line center pretty easily, but then i would think we would need to still add some size on our 2nd line. Maybe JVR and Ryan Malone or Ryan Clowe? Schenn for JVR plus Rinaldo (despite injurys, but i wouldnt love this trade because i say JVR doesn't break out til late 2013 but then i think he will score 35 goals. Then maybe swing Komisarek and gunner for a malone i dont know we have so many assets to trade but we definatly need upgrades at center ice and size and meanness in our top 6... i think our prospects will develop into a great bottom 6.

Assumed correctly, i like Toews as well, i really do, but when Malkin turns it up a notch, he is on a whole different level than everyone else. Kinda mario like.

Couldn't agree more. Jonathan Toews is the perfect 1st round pick to build a franchise on

He certainly has more ability. You can't really lose taking either guy but my vote goes with our rival. He's so damned clutch.
