you'd have to be brian burke crazy to trade away such a valuable draft pick! that's all i'm trying to say! if you're going to try to rationalize the hypothetical scenario that roy and stafford are traded for something in colorado, by all means, i'm just saying we really need to keep our 1st this time around.

Roy has zero value for Colorado. They are set at the #1 and #2 spot for years to come. Honestly if you move Roy for a late 1st rounder, then move our 1st rounder straight up for Stastny I'd be all for it. The draft is a crapshoot and there hasn't been a real #1 overall bust is a long time. Our luck would have it that we'd be the team that draft 1st overall and takes the "Ryan Leaf" type guy.

I would trade Roy, Stafford and a 1st rounder for a guy like Patrick Kane.. but not Stastny..

Lets not forget that Buffalo has their own 2nd rounder and Calgary's 2nd rounder.

I'd much rather have Duchene than Statsny. I'd actually rather have Ryan O'Reilly than Statsny. Not that I wouldn't take Statsny, but i like their other two centers better.

Thats the problem.


None of these players have won a damn thing for this organization. None should be untouchable. If the goal is to win a Stanley cup, any and all options to improve the team should be considered. To me Myers(potentail) for Getzlaf(proven) is a no brainer. There is no way to tell weather or not Myers will become the player everyone wants him to be. You wanna wait 7yrs before he turns into a dominate force? Chara didn't become the player he is today untll he was 30. He wasn't the force he is now when he played in Ottawa.

And before you say Myers is furthur along. Chara was physical and could skate. Myers is weak physically and can skate.
