Dreger already confirmed that Brian Burke has NEVER spoken to Columbus about trading for Rick Nash...EVER...not even once...aint gonna happen
- steve362

I wouldn't go that far:

A couple of sketchy trade rumours out there. Can tell you the Leafs, according to Burke have never discussed Nash trade..."Ever."

Now this can be taken one of two ways.

1) Burke has never discussed any trade for Rick Nash

or

2) Burke has never discussed this trade for Rick Nash

Makes you wonder...

I'd prefer Getzlaf over Nash anyday of the week

in the playoffs
bergeron
Briere
Pavelski
Zetterberg

no particular order

- perrinsl

we can only compare regular seasons at this point because Garbo hasn't had the opportunity to play in the playoffs. Saying what he would or wouldn't do is pure speculation. I happen to be of the opinion that come playoff time, Garbo will elevate his game huge because that is what he does when poop gets real. But again that is speculation.

which is very odd. I am not privy to their conversations but I would bet my non-existent house that they have spoken. How serious the conversations were I have no idea. But to say that one of the most active GMs in the league who is constantly looking to add star power to his lineup has never spoken to a GM of a team with two superstars who are known to be available is absurd.
- mycokes

or he wants absolutley no part of that contract.

Yeah I figure it won't im just speculating the pro's and con's. Id be for it.

It seems like too heavy of a trade to make at this point of the season though. Could mess up the locker room.

Trading is tough right now. Need to take team chemistry and the effect a trade can have into consideration.

I honestly hope that poor bastard scores before the one year anniversary.

Otherwise, it's not going to be a pretty scene at the Bell Centre. Party hats, cakes with candles, streamers and noisemakers...

Grabbo = Grabovski (or the marionette from the Simpsons)

Garbo = Greta Garbo - actress whose reclusive ways in retirement became legend.

i just googled her and good god man. How (frank)ing old are you?

Well he is rumored to be available - I think trading away your star/franchise player when your team is struggling could be detrimental to the survival of the Jackets. Especially with the AS game there next season. I really don't think Nash is available.

I would be shocked if he hadn't kicked the tires on Nash.

I would be more shocked if he gave up that package to get him.

I would still take those players over Grabo in the regular season...specially knowing what they have already done in the playoffs.

Columbus would have brought him up then at some point. I find it ludacris that they have never had any discussion at all about Rick Nash even for Burke just to say that he wants no part of the contract.

Burke has stated that if the trade will benefit the team's chances of winning a cup, he will make the trade. No one is expecting the Leafs to win the cup this year, so if a trade will screw up the locker room this year, but make us contenders the next, I 100% believe Burke will make the trade.

But we don't want Nash.

We want a centre.

they are not in a different tier than Garbo. Taking one over the other is just a matter of personal preference. But based on this year's performance and last year's, he deserves mention together with those guys. Replacing Garbo with Pavelski is a step sideways

Also - I think that IF Nash was available (which i don't think is the case) he would be involved with another franchise player i.e Stall/Getzlaf/Perry/Etc. There are alot of teams out there who could offer a better package.

I think they were just referring to the deal that was posted.

Plus I bet Dregger is saying that to take media attention away from TOR/CBJ should a trade be in the works.
