He is also neglecting the fact that the Sens didn't want to waste a year on Zibanejad's contract on what they thought would be a bad season for the team.
- mr.peanut

Zibanejad was non-factor in the pre-season while Couturier was producing.

Avs kept Landeskog even though they knew they would suck... If Zibanejad deserved to be in the NHL they would have kept him...

The (frank) we care about off-season games??? Wasn't Beaulieu one of the best D at the camp? And where is he playing this year? And yet you are including Landeskog, the player who was the most NHL ready in that draft. You are on your own on this one.

hahaha i love this board, most of you guys are pathetic.

Not the most evenly balanced trade, but Gomez is a significant upgrade over Higgins and the contract can be handled. Kind of disappointed Gainey gave McDonaugh, but they've got plenty of depth at that position. Maybe they know something about Ryan that made him expendable.

The Habs will be an interesting team to watch next year.

Zibanejad was as ready physically as Landeskog. That was one of his main asset coming into the draft.

So you're telling you know what the sens thought when they lend Z to the SEL?

Zibanejad didn't do squat in pre-season, they gave him a chance in the first 9 games and saw he wasn't ready, and then that's why they shipped him back in sweden.

Pretty sure the sens would rather have Couturier scoring 20 goals on their 3rd line than Zibanejad scoring the winning goal at the WJC....

Zibanejad was overhyped and overrated. Couturier was overscouted (rare in the Q) and they began to see the weaknesses in his play.

Scheifele was a reach.

The kid is 18, 6'4 center good on draws who can kill penalties and score goals. (frank) his skating stride.
