That is almost as magical as the trading to reach the Salary Cap Floor.. how many players leave as a free agent and return to the team???
- RENATO6

if they trade him he's not coming back.

Plus think of the thousand of dollars in operating costs the Habs will save on doughnuts and corn chips.

More than a bit. He's got less than 25 goals in 200+ games.

He scored less goals than i thought but had more assists than i expected. Still, 900K is a cheap contract for a guy who is ~25, big body and a former 1st.

Exactly, they put the offer on the table for approx 3 years, if he does not sign move him for a 2nd.. and assume he is gone forever

That's why I wrote "if they really want him".
Personnaly, I think 4M for a 3rd liner is a lot of money, even for a 20 goal scorer.

For a team that should rebuild and already have enough bad contracts, yes it is.

Can't wait for the Leafs Centennial.

Can you imagine how many "support our troops" ceremony they will have that season?

Can't wait.

AK said he would take less than Market value, not less than what he's making now. Just saying there's a difference. Either way they should know what it would take to get him signed or move him. And for those who question his value at the deadline, I'm not sure there's a lot better than him available if someone is looking for scoring.

This.

If he wants to stay, get it done. If not, trade him, don't wait and get (frank) all.

I will not do the work, but it would be interesting to see what the average player who scores 20-25 goal for about 4 years is making. I would guess its in the 3-4 range.

You honestly think there'll be more than there is now? Leafs will have 3 or 4 nights where they can honor somebody not dead....gonna be some reaching going on.

Who did that ??

Edit: We laughed of someone last year saying Habs should target Stewart for a 3M$ cap hit, and then i said he was cheap at his actual price tag.

I slot AK in between McArthur and Backles in terms of results... and Backles is making $4.5

It's mind boggling, how much harder does he want them to stroke the Leafs?

Ak is worth 3.5 for 3 or 4 years otherwise trade him.
