I think we should sign him too. No one will give up anything significant and his chemistry with Eller is interesting.

What does it take for an opposing GM to get him out of Montreal?

edit: in other words, what is anything significant?

Depends on the cost. 3.5 for 3 years, maybe 4.

Press box and much less ice-time. He's not going to learn anything playing 25 minutes a game in the AHL.

I said for a couple of weeks. Not a season.
It may teach him some humility.

Significant would be a 2nd rounder or better...maybe a player.

I think we're looking at a bust and a 4th rounder if we trade him now (that's if you trade him to a playoff team)... A non-playoff team might pay more, but they wouldn't trade for him now (at this stage of the season).

If he's honest about taking less to stay in Montreal.... 3.5 for 3 years sounds fair.

It could also humiliate him. it's not a terrible idea, but it would seem to be unusual. How many guys go from leading a team in ice-time for 2/3rds of a season to the minors?

That works for me. I hope we trade Gill and Campoli before the deadline.

I really can't believe ANYONE would need Campoli....

Gill will attract more interest than we think.

If he accepts a cheap contract i wouldn't mind keeping him as a 4th liner. We don't really need another 5th round pick in next year's weak draft anyway.

I think he may be our most valuable moveable asset at the deadline if we're sellers. I think I may start crying at the thought of what I've just typed.

I think you are under-evaluating some of our players. Teams overpay at the deadline all the time, why won't they do it for guys like Moen or Kostitsyn? Look at what Kaberle was able to get the Leafs last year..

edit: Sorry, you're not the one who answered about Kostitsyn. So maybe I'm over-evaluating. But PG can do better than a 5th for Moen.

I think AK is our most valuable asset, but i wouldn't move him. I like Moen but how much do you think a GM would actually pay for 2-3 months of Travis Moen?

I have no idea, but with more than one team reportedly interested, I would assume that the final price will be better than a 5th round draft choice.

According to an article in Lapresse thir morning, Both Moen and Gill could fetch 3rd rounder tops.

A GM offers a 1st round pick. Do you move him then? Not saying it's going to happen, but in theory...
