You read the Kings thread. I'll bet that picks up as the west coasters start to wake up.

Good old MB.

For all the discussion over Peyton Manning’s future with the Indianapolis Colts, the underlying issue is that people close to him don’t believe he’ll resume his career.

The nerves in Manning’s arm are not healing as quickly as hoped and, worse, don’t appear to be progressing at enough of a rate to indicate that he will play again, according to two sources with knowledge of Manning’s rehabilitation from neck surgery. The vertebrae in his neck that were fused have healed as expected and Manning began throwing in December. But he hasn’t shown improvement in velocity on his passes, and the two sources fear he likely never will again.

Why not?

too old.

And he was a great coach, maybe the best ever. His effect on a franchise outside of that is mythical.

Why do people on a web board need to come up with the name?
- habby

Good point. What I should say is that Molson needs to hire someone better than the names being thrown around at this moment. Otherwise, we may as well extend Gauthier. For all the crap he's taken, there are positives in that dressing room. It's easy to look at the bad moves in a season like this one. The names mentioned in the media are not improvements.

In regards to the Bowman comment, anyone would, that includes Molson if Bowman was available. That's a big IF though.

Can wait to see PG unload a few draft picks again for a run at the playoffs.

Brewers’ Nyjer Morgan Will Practice With San Jose Sharks

Nyjer Morgan makes his living on the baseball diamond, but he’s about to try his hand at another line of work. Morgan plans to lace up the skates and practice with the NHL’s San Jose Sharks on Wednesday, according to the Canadian Press.“I’m really excited to get on the ice with the team,” he said in a statement. “I’ve been a diehard fan since the team came to San Jose in 1991. I will never forget the George Kingston and Patty Falloon days. I’m not sure the guys are ready for me!”

Bowman would hire Pierre McGuire. He publically endorsed him 10 days ago.

Actually I think they all like him too much. Be advised I'm not taking a shot at PK. I think he's a great talent but...

Send his ass down until he comes back with a new attitude.

The Good

Cole signing.

Showing patience with Price, Pacioretty.

He's giving Subban, Desharnais, Eller, Emelin and Diaz room to grow into NHLers.

He managed to get rid of the Cammalleri contract (offsets the horrible Kaberle trade)

Gionta still holds value.

The bad

He picked Gill over Hamrlik which wasn't the best choice, but not many people criticized the move last summer.

He also picked Markov over Wisniewski. While that hasn't worked, I don't think the coin and term given to Wisniewski would have been appreciated here. To suggest he knew that Markov would have two set backs is a little stupid.

Gomez was terrible.

Questionable draft picks but some good ones on the horizon (it seems).

Again, he's far from my favourite but to say that he's a terrible GM is exaggerated. It's a season where everything that could go bad has gone bad. With such a young team, they don't have the experience to bounce back from this type of season.

Agreed with the bolded, but I chalk it up as a 2nd year player being used the wrong way. I blame the team more than i blame him.

No, he needs to grow up.

But look at how dramatic the turnaround was for Price a few years back...he grew up in a hurry...
