Bailey has 101 points in 259 NHL games translating to .38PPG. He was problem rushed a year too early and was only guy to make NHL other than Stamkos and Doughty in first year.

- Spartiarti

That is not true. 8 out of the first 10 picks played in the NHL in their 2008 draft year including Bogosian, Pietrangelo, Schenn, Filatov and Boedker in addition to Stamkos, Doughty and Bailey. Also, Boychuk, Sbisa and Tikhonov made the NHL.

Do you just make this stuff up?

Moulson is the most one dimension player on the Team If he so good, why hasnt he been take off Tavares line to balance out the scoring?

Answer - b)Tavares is incredible and make anyone better. I do credit that Moulson does make the most of it and not afraid to shoot.

a)Have you notice on nights when Moulson doesnt score he is absolutely invisible during the game?

Get rid of Rolston and you'll see everyone production increase.

- Spartiarti

a) NOPE!!!! Sorry Sparti but I have to completely disagree with your assessments.

b)Which is why KO has started to score some goals.
And IMO the jury is still out on KO because he's still taking the easy route way to often. JT does the dirty work and KO has reaped the benefits. On the other hand. Matt Moulson gets into the dirty areas. Takes a beating night after night. Draws the attention of one or two "D" men. Disrupts the goalies and puts pucks in the net at an All Star pace!

Bailey over Moulson is insane. Sorry, but building up Bailey at Moulsons expense is

Bailey has done NOTHING to make anyone believe he'll be more valuable then....

What did you call him? A one dimensional player (MOULSON) One dimensional 30-35 goal scorer? Yr after Yr! Who wouldnt want that????? Check out who the players are in the NHL who have scored back to back 30+ goal seasons!!!!

Then after MM scores his 3rd consecutive 30+ goal season. Look at the company he's in! It just doest happen in the NHL anymore. MM is an extremely valuable commodity. Be grateful we have him. He's the single best acquisition Snow has made.

Put MOULSON on the market and you'll see how much that one dimensional player brings back!!! Check out the other blog sites. Other teams would love to have MM on their team.

Put Bailey on the market and I doubt you get much more then a 3rd or 4th rd pick in return. If that.

Bailey may improve his game over time. But its no guarantee. There isnt even much evidence to believe he'll be anything more than an average 3rd line player when you consider how he's slipped over the past seasons.

At this point. If Bailey learns to check, win faceoffs and put up 12 -15 goals a season he will be considered a 3rd line success.

Big if considering what he's showed us.

I love Moulson. He is willing to go in front of the net and get dirty to score. I wish guys like Bailey and Frans were like this. Isles should have a practive just watching Moulson playing. I'll go to war with Moulson.

Well, since Bailey over Moulson is so ridiculous that I'm not even going to touch it...

Anybody not want Jacob Trouba, assuming were drafting in the general position we sit at now?

Also, Cizikas has a goal and is +1 at the start of the 2nd period of the AHL All Star game (On MSG+). He's wearing #10 in white.

How Ironic. I just left a site where McKenzie and Button were saying Trouba was a top 10 Prospect with Good size, Not to flashy and plays with grit.

My 1st choice at this point would be Matt Dumba followed by Ryan Murray. Then either Morgan Reilly or Jacob Trouba. All "D" men all ranked in the top 10 all North American. I'd be happy with any of em.

Of course Nail is the prize but we dont have a snowballs chance in hell to get him.

Nail and Grigorenko are both gonna be great. I'm almost happy that we (probably) won't be in that range because I really think it's time to start stocking up on blue chip defense prospects.

I agree. Hopefully the Isles land a top dman. Looks to be a good draft for dmen in the first round especially where the Isles will probably draft.

What if we offer a disgruntled Kirk Muller and a past-his-prime Ron Hextall?

I actually think we would be in a better position if we were able to draft Nail. We could trade that pick with one of the first 4 teams and still land a stud D-man and pick up other assets.

While I definitely agree that we could do that, I'm a firm believer that you take the best player available. If we really poop the bed the rest of the season and end up in that 1 or 2 spot, I'd have a real hard time passing up Yakupov or Grigorenko.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't follow the kids going into the draft until the night of the draft so I can't comment on individual players. Where is the best place to read up on the prospects? The only place I usually look on is TSN.

Huddle's blog always has good insight on this site. Personally I'm a big fan of the draft, but of course I'm no expert so I read as much as possible from a few different places and try and form my own opinions rather than just regurgitating one site's thoughts.

A few of the ones I check pretty frequently:

www.thescoutingreport.com just released their mid-term top 60 rankings (this site is my personal favorite);

www.hockeysfuture.com has the ISS rankings;

www.nhl.com/ice/eventhome.htm?location=/draft/2012 has Central Scouting's rankings;

www.puckprospectus.com always has good stuff, although some things you can't see unless you pay to be a member;

www.eliteprospects.com and www.hockeydb.com will give you all players stat history

Thanks! Now I have some sites to reference and see what's going on. Unfortunately I've only gotten into the draft in the most recent of years based on where the Islanders have been picking. Ugh!

No problem! For me anyway, it's fun (and can sometimes provide a distraction from an otherwise frustrating season ) to keep up with all that stuff. If nothing else it makes for some interesting conversation in here

Not going to disagree with this. Let me clarify, moulson does his one dimension well. However, he would not be able to do it without Tavares. Let me ask you. If moulson has 22 goals, how many goals would parise or Ryan have on Tavares left wing.

If moulson so good why isn't he moved of Tavares line to help other lines.
