LA could make a pitch for Carter by giving up Bernier as the main piece (As Bernier would be a main piece in any deal for LA)
LA does have interest in him - USA_Parise9
LA are pretty stacked down the middle with Kopitar and Richards. Could any of the 3 comfortably play wing on a permanent basis? |

he is in CA to see a doctor that specializes in spinal cord injuries... not sure what to make out of that.... - SuperHenderson13

now I see where the trade rumors come from, whether they're just speculation or not...if Columbus is regretting trading for him, there's no better time than now (or at the draft) to try and rectify the mistake - S Kaspar Rollins
So if I understand the contract right, the Flames could acquire Carter now for something not too big to help Columbus get rid of him and help themselves try to make the playoffs. Then they could trade him again in the summer without his permission - maybe somewhere nice he'd really like to go like the Islanders or Winnipeg.

Some rumours make common sense.
This one kinda does.
Feaster said he wanted to rebuild on the fly many times now. Columbus having a sh!tty year, wants to clean up payroll a bit.
But to think Carter gets traded twice in 2 years since signing a contract..
I guess it could happen. I just dont see Feaster doing this..
But if he does, I guess he can always ship him to Long Island at the draft, if he doesnt fit in during his CGY stay....lol - IronMaidnick
maybe it's just because i have slightly more faith in Feaster than a lot of calgary fans but i don't see him paying the price required for Carter...then again if he had to lose a 1st i could see him saying "i really hate trading 1sts but for a player of this caliber" like he's done when he's given out NTCs and trading 2nds |

I would say Mike Richards move to the wing to be honest
He wanders into the middle a lot regardless of where he plays haha
But having too many centers isnt that big of a deal, but it is when you are the LA Kings and dont have any wingers or LW players since Robitaille |

Carter can and has played the wing. Richards has played LW and he has played some LW this season. Im not opposed to a carter deal. We have to take a risk and a one time 40 goal guy is the type to take the risk on. |

would be hilarious...but then again if he was that bad, they'd probably only get a fraction of what they paid originally, making it a terrible trade
also, they'd have to do it at the draft; I think most inactive NTCs go into effect July 1 |

losing morrison brings horak back in the line up, So really nothing big there. So stajan and horak will switch around on 4th line.
this could be just a whole lot of nothing

There is no way carter is better in the circle than richards. Carter has more time on the wing in his career than richards. But both can play wing for sure. |

yeah, i don't even think they lose that much cap from this move, so to say it's a precursor to something seems quite a leap |

By all accounts he's a problem in the dressing room. And he breaks his foot alot.
Remember when the Flyers dumped him he went into hiding somewhere and couldn't be found for a week or two. I think the Jackets sent Nash out with a flashlight to find him. |

Carter is the better faceoff guy
But they both can play wing....I would move Richards |

yup, that's one reason i'm wary
like i say, I'm curious as to what the Sabres want for Roy...of course Carter's more skilled but I think overall it's a riskier long term move if they went for him. this is assuming Feaster wants to make a move for a center which is the farthest thing from certain imo |

Sounds like we're creating a viable trade here. Bernier + what is the offer? |

hmmm....not sure if I'd do it but I can see the argument to be made there
though the Flames don't have a 2nd until 2014 |

btw from earlier. We traded for Drury from the Flames, and then the Regehr trade.
I'm loving the trade. Regehr brings what was needed to this defense core. If our forwards decide to play defense maybe we can play well.
Is Byron in the A?

There would have to be some salary going the other way. If im the kings im trying to dump off penner in there just for the hell of it. CBJ deserves penner. Maybe we throw in Hickey and maybe rights to moller. |

Carter wouldn't want to play in CowTown...just guessing though - LeftCoaster
Classic Nucklehead.
Playing along side Iginla with a team in the playoff hunt. Carter would want to. Carter, Iginla and Cammy as a first line. Check mate. |

I don't think Buffalo really wants to move Roy, they need him to play better. They really can't afford to give him away, don't have much down the middle as it is. Gaustad is UFA, Hecht is hurt, Leino doesn't want to play center and they have a million injuries.
To move Roy they need a center back who's at least as good. |

it's been an alright trade imo, still a little miffed they threw in the 2nd instead of just dumping Kotalik in the minors but it's not my money I guess. |
