I don't see the richards carter comparasion.
richards is a playmaker center...which we need
carter is another shooter. a jokinen + (but this year not the case which is scarey)
I like carter, when healthy. But we already know Iggy with a shooter center doesn't pan out to high numbers. And with cammeleri it makes it even worse.
Roy would be a safer bet. Would rather pay big for johansen from columbus. OR a big center to get in front of the net since we are lacking that as well - numbear
Totally agree. A shoot first center at a contract running for the better part of forever is the last thing Calgary need. |

Are you ok?
Do you want to perhaps meet for coffee and you can talk to me about your problems? Just let it all out, have a good cry, open up and tell me how it hurts.
Let me tell you something my friend, you can be angry at anyone you want...but you'll never be happy until you're happy inside...until you're happy with yourself.

It depends on what they were trying to do...clearly they're trying to make 8th place and in that case SURE bring him back. I'm not arguing that the moves they're trying to make are not "improving" the club, but they're not moves that are going to help them win anything either.
For years Leafs fans said the exact things you're saying and they took beating after beating for it and finally management woke up (sort of) and decided it was time to rebuild. Some might not agree with the approach Burke took but he definitely rebuilt.
Do you want to stay competitive year after year and lose in the 1st round or maybe the 2nd or maybe sometimes not make the playoffs at all. Or do you want to build a team that will win the division and eventually get to the 3rd round or win a cup?
I jut do not believe with the route the Flames are taking that they will ever do more then what they've done in the last 5 years. - Juice
We will have to agree to disagree with that one, because I believe they can.
Of course they are going to resign Tanguay, he had a great year last year, and 3.5 million is dirt cheap in cap space these days. Rebuild or not, you still have to ice 18 skaters and a goalie, if they let him walk it would have been really, really dumb. The Flames have a lot of commited dollars this year, so they might as well try and make the playoffs while it is the way it is. You aren't going to make all of that money disappear overnight, trading multiple players with high salaries and NMC's is pretty damn hard, so I believe they might as well try while they are commited to the players they have.
From the outside it may appear like the Flames are standing pat, content with 8th spot, mortgage the future etc etc etc. But I can tell you that anyone who follows the team closely knows this is not the case.
Next season the Flames are going to be a completely different team. Sure, you're probably going to see the mose of the same names on the surface (Iggy, Kipper, JBO, Stajan hahaha) but underneath it all the rest of the team will completely change. We have 2 juniors who I beleive will make the jump next year and make a serious impact in Reinhart, and Baertschi, as well as perhaps Ferlund. Not only that, they have nearly 20 million in cap space going into next off season.
Anyways, change takes time, Feaster hasnt even had full control for a whole year yet, so I think your assumption they don't realize they need to change is a little unsubstantiated. |

where you do get this stuff ek? Jack Johnson? Hawks would not get someone of that calibre without trading them patrick kane. If that is the deal then it believable.
LA has just as much chance of winning cup as Chicago. Why would they send one of there top young dman to one of the rivals. |

More lopsided than?
To Toronto - Doug Gilmour, Jamie Macoun, Rick Nattress, Rick Wamsley & Kent Manderville
To Calgary - Gary Leeman, Alexander Godynyuk, Jeff Reese, Michel Petit & Craig Berube
Also not suggesting this is a good trade, only that worse things are possible... - 1970vintage
I'm not even saying it's lopsided. It's just stupid because it's filled with things the ducks don't need...except maybe Raymond, but how much is he worth these days? |

Dunno. He is good for 25 goals-50 points at the very least.
If he wasnt such a perimeter player it would be more.
Im guessing a decent 3 or 4 fourth liner with grit.
Raymond for Moan would work for me. |

I think a 1-2 punch of Johansen and Grigorenko down the middle would look way better. Carter's injuries suck. |

Montreal would probably make that deal. Not sure if Gillis would but you'd be close. |
