I don't think it needs to be blown up...but I do think the constant desperation to make 8th place is killing the long-term plans of the team. They've been doing it since they lost in the SC finals...adding that one missing piece. Clearly not working.

They aren't in denial, not since Sutter has left anyway. If you listen to Feaster talk he believes that they can rebuild while staying competetive every year, and honestly I believe they can too.

This guy is completely making no sense whatsoever. Why would LA trade away their stay home defensemen when Doughty is stinking this year? And yes Nash to the leafs or any other team is an overkill. The jackets will likely get Yakupov next year and I have seen this kid play live. He is wicked good. Nash and Carter will stay in CLB to make a complete line next year with Yakupov. The only players I can see leaving CLB is Vermette, Brassard and if they get enough, maybe Carter. That is a big IF.

Camalleri is only on the hook for 2 more years @ 6 mil. That's not the best contract but it's not that bad either. Certainly nowhere near Stajan anyways.

It depends on what they were trying to do...clearly they're trying to make 8th place and in that case SURE bring him back. I'm not arguing that the moves they're trying to make are not "improving" the club, but they're not moves that are going to help them win anything either.

For years Leafs fans said the exact things you're saying and they took beating after beating for it and finally management woke up (sort of) and decided it was time to rebuild. Some might not agree with the approach Burke took but he definitely rebuilt.

Do you want to stay competitive year after year and lose in the 1st round or maybe the 2nd or maybe sometimes not make the playoffs at all. Or do you want to build a team that will win the division and eventually get to the 3rd round or win a cup?

I jut do not believe with the route the Flames are taking that they will ever do more then what they've done in the last 5 years.

Considering the Flames made a big pitch to Richards in the offseason I could honestly see them looking into Carter. That being said, they better not over pay, or give even close to what C-Bus gave to get him. I would say Backlund and a 2nd-4th or a prospect. No more. I know it may seem crazy, but if Carter can find his health I would love him on the Flames, and even though his contract is LOOOOONNNGGG the cap hit isn't that bad for a player of his talent. Again, this all barring the fact his health can return to 100%.

I like carter, when healthy. But we already know Iggy with a shooter center doesn't pan out to high numbers. And with cammeleri it makes it even worse.

Roy would be a safer bet. Would rather pay big for johansen from columbus. OR a big center to get in front of the net since we are lacking that as well
