I was just kidding about Florida. Tho, you might have a point. My 80 year old aunt in Del Boca Vista is pretty nuts.

the radio guys I used to listen to up here (who have since moved on to NC) did a bit every day called "It happend in Florida" where the premise was they would read three ridiculous stories (many involving crimes) and the callers had to pick which one happened in Florida. Mind-boggling results.

When I was in college in Rochester, NY it was a big deal to get Labatts Blue label. Usually we could only afford Genny Cream Ale tho

These are all good things.

Blue Monkey Tavern in Merchantville, NJ just tapped Uncommon Brewery's Bacon Brown Ale. Chase that with a Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout (coffee-chocolate stout aged in maple syrup/bourbon barrels) and you're covering all these bases.

Oh and Go Team Hartnell!

I never heard of Genny Cream Ale. The cheapest beer in our parts is Pabst Blue Ribbon... But if your looking to get drunk on beer for the least amount of money its Natural Ice... or Natty Ice here... Either way, whenever I see them I picture Larry the Cable Guy, standing in front of a mobil home, with foot long yellow grass.

yeah, Woody and Wilcox. They left a few years back. The show is still played here, but it's not the same. They don't talk about Anchorage and the local poop anymore, so now they're just like anyone else talking in the morning. Plus their callers all had those southern accents and that's the last thing i want to hear in the morning.

Ummm... just the second time Canada has embarrassed themselves? Did you not hear about Vancouver last year? Or Montreal. Both rioting in the streets... I dont think Canada has as nearly nice a reputation as you think. When I think Canada I think stuck up, dirt bag Frenchie... You can thank the Hans fans for that.

No I would say Canada has done plenty to embarrass itself... Its just no-one in America cares so its not a big issue here.

- RooNosHockey

Wow, interesting overgeneralization here. Every country harbours it's idiots. This would be like me saying all Americans are gun carrying intolerant loud mouth rednecks... which is not he case at all. America isn't perfect either, but for the most part I've found the people are fantastic.

Clearly you haven't been here or met the vast majority of the people in this great country.

Don't know how you can be a hockey fan and not think positive things about Canadians. The vast majority of Canadian NHLers come off as such genuinely GOOD people I can't help, but think Canadians and Canada are great.

I'm not racist, nor is Canadian a race. He was just saying that people think Canada is all sweet and nice, and I said that wasnt the first thing I think of when I think of Canada.

Dont get me wrong. I like canada. I want to move there one day. But It has embarrassed itself more then a couple times, and I think Habs fans give all Canadians bad reps.

- RooNosHockey

You know what though, the people in Vancouver and Montreal who rioted were criminals looking for an excuse to wreck the joint. Every country has these. Look at the Rodney King riots in LA? I don't think all of them were rioting due to the verdict. Happens everywhere.

Also, I know tons of great Habs fans. I hate their team for sure, but if you ever go to Montreal, they are knowledgeable, passionate and for the most part friendly if you show that you are a fan of the game and are passionate about it as they are.

Damn right. Wanna know a good comparison? Philly has a reputation as a tough.. maybe even dangerous place to visit. Before I went to see my first game in Philly.. some of my fellow hockey fans up here said.. wow you're going to Philly and you are meeting up with some locals you met on hockeybuzz for a tailgate? Nice knowing ya. I went to Philly, had a great time, and met friendly/great fellow hockey fans. Never felt in danger once and now love the City as much as the team. If I had believed the generalizations about Philly.. I wouldn't have had that great experience and met great people.

Wasn't THAT bad. It was kinda funny at first. It just went on too long. Moved from good natured ribbing to obnoxious pretty quick
- Dkos

The show went on way too long. It was obvious the teams were already selected before the show started so the pauses and discussions between the captains before each pick got old real fast.

Once they realized the crowd started to get tired and a bit boisterous, they should have picked up the pace. Even the players looked like they didn't want to be there after the first half hour of the show.

Where? I did my undergrad at U of R. I have a soft spot for Molson (Canadian and Export, not that Golden crap) and Labatts from my time up there. Genny was the family beer, drank by all my relatives in central PA, long before I moved to Rochester...my grandfather has a can with him in his coffin, courtesy of my Uncle I never drank much Genny when I lived up there though.

Yeah Florida - where a woman actually dialed 9-1-1 because her local McDonalds was out of chicken nuggets.

I'm actually going to respond to everyone because I said a lot. I'm just going to say that RooNosHockey was right. Canada has embarrassed themselves far more then I've pointed out. I was more so speaking from recent events but we've certainly done much worse things over the game of hockey.

...And no I'm not moving to New Jersey now. Plans fell through. I'm more then likely visiting the area sometime soon though.
