i dated a girl from kentucky back in college - and hers was sweet. normally it goes through me like nails down a chalk board.

I can also understand that to a degree...like I said the other day when an accent discussion came up...those southern girl accents are a whole different story when they get pissed.

Nice to see he wasn't holding back on the PIMs in the postseason.

I have a good story about "Superfan Eric". A couple years ago, the Flyers Fan Club invited me to talk about the Pelle Lindbergh book at one of their events at the Skatium.

I did that and then took questions from the people who were there. Somebody asked me whether I thought today's game was better or worse than the 1980s.

I said it's better in some ways, not nearly as good in others. I said that something about today's game I don't like is the staged fights and, on a related note, I didn't like the way the instigator rule took away from the ability of one teammate to stand up for another.

All the sudden, the Superfan guy jumps to his feet and gives me a one-person standing ovation after sitting there impassively for the past 45 mins while I was talking about the book.

The Rat Patrol line was pretty entertaining. Homer created a lot of room for Linseman and Propp to do their thing.
