I stand corrected then. However, how will trading Sharp for Rutuu at the time make sense for the Hawks if Ruutu had 15 points for his career and Bouque had 34 for that season?
- Schenn2shine

Tuomo Ruutu posted 40 something points the year before that.. his rookie year.

When you work for the Flyers, you are not looking to make sense for the Hawks.. you are looking at making the best move for your club. Unfortunately they (frank)ed it up.

He was traded in 05-06.. the following year was the year they decided to go with youth.. Richards Cater Umberger Upshall etc. He probably would have been part of that group playing in the top 6.
- jak521

After Keith Primeau's injury, Umburger was a main stay with Philadelphia. Umburger began his rookie season as a Flyer the same season Carter and Richards did, which was almost 2 seasons before Upshall got here. Upshall was a trade deadline that came along time after Carter, Richards and Umburger were regulars in the line up.

The Hawks have to agree to the deal. A deal doesn't happen because the Flyers say so.

UGh...
both players wanted a fresh start...
Ellison was going to be a depth guy
Sharp was going to play on a bad team but get the ice time he wanted.

As much as Clarke made some bad trades, he made some good ones. Not all trades work out.

- phi1671

What, in your opinion, was Clarkes best trade... Not trying to start a fight either.. I just only remember trades that didnt exactly go our way...

Brindy.. won a cup.
Williams.. won a cup.
Sharp... won a cup.

Thats how I see it. I think Clarke was MUCH better in FA.

after the trade I emailed a Chicago beat writer and he insisted Ellison was going to be a good player for the Flyers.

At the time it didn't look like a bad trade. Things just didn't workout. People only got upset over the trade once Sharp broke out.

I'd love it if he gave detailed answers in Russian about the works of Tolstoy to every question.

Panaccio: Bryz, you made a big glove save there on Parise, did you gain confidence from that?

Bryz: Толстой был блестящим, если немного долго наматывается. Его эпос иногда вытащить, но очень приятно, dilligent читателя.

Seravalli: I write my column in crayon

Bryz: Любой получил цианистый капсулы?

I know the history. My point was following the 05-06 season... The Flyers had the year we dont speak of. During that year was when they handed over the reigns to the young guys, and made it about them. Had they not traded Sharp.. he would ahve been a part of that. It is hindsight.

I can't disagree with this. I also feel chemistry has something to do with it as well.

Was it Clarke that traded for LeClair and Desjardins? Becuase I would say that.

If Sharp didn't ask for a trade, he would have been apart of the more youth friendly Flyers. At the same time, I don't know what happened between closed doors. Maybe Hitch did lose his patience with Sharp. Maybe Sharp was asking for the ice time. Maybe both. I've heard 2 different stories.

I cant remember if Zhitnik for Coburn was under Clarke's watch or Homers.... but that wasnt a bad trade either...

What's funny to me is how bad people want to trade JvR but still complain about Patrick Sharp being traded. Who's to be blamed when JvR gets moved and he rips it up? Personally I feel Matt Read could be the next Patrick Sharp.
