What, in your opinion, was Clarkes best trade... Not trying to start a fight either.. I just only remember trades that didnt exactly go our way...

Brindy.. won a cup.
Williams.. won a cup.
Sharp... won a cup.

Thats how I see it. I think Clarke was MUCH better in FA.

so true i told a guy at work if they win 65 games this year id be happy
- Duane B

Maybe not that bad (they have some decent starting pitching), but a good bet for last place in the division.

The counter argument is that Suter makes players look much better when playing with him. Suter is not an offensive d-man. He is a two way d-man who has a better defensive game than offensive.. and his offensive game is pretty superb.

i see, but then what has happened to hamahuis? suter became #2 when hamhuis left.

im a mets fan and im over it. or is this just like the shelly crap you have to beat the horse to pulp
- Duane B

It's the first time I've mentioned the Mets, I guess that constitutes beating it to a pulp.

It's okay to be disappointed with JvR but I think it's silly to have the mindset to trade him. For me, it's okay to think this way when it comes to a vet but not a kid.
- Schenn2shine

I dont think that mindset to trade him is all that crazy. If I need a player like JvR to land someone like Weber then so be it. His potential is high and he is a young kid but the chance he does/doesnt become a monster in the NHL is anyones guess. Players sometimes never reach their potential and sometimes they do. Thats the risk of any trade.

See that's the difference. I think it's silly to trade JvR just so that Brayden Schenn can have his big brother in the room. I would love to have Luke but not at the cost of JvR. Most certainly not at the cost that Burke is reportedly asking for. JvR is the better player, while Burke seems to think Luke Schenn is.

On the flip side of the join I agree. If you're trading JvR for Shea Weber, I don't see how the Flyers could say no. Shea Weber is a different animal then Luke Schenn.

dont expect any moves this deadline, i think were set....

this offseason though i hope we go hard after weber to replace pronger.

not crazy about suter unless we sign him in the offseason as a ufa, i think carle is just as good if not better, and carle has the adv because hes familiar with the team.

dont trade jvr, dont trade bob, dont trade anyone.

im dreaming of pronger getting better then any trade that could go down.

- mydoglicks

I'm a fan of Carle as a player, and think he's an underrated defenseman. But he is not as good as Suter.

They gave up a ton for Gio Gonzalez, they have a deep farm system, but they overpaid.

I do agree with you that there is no way I traded JvR straight up for Schenn. Toronto would have to give me more. If not Ill keep JvR and try my best to acquire Weber. If I dont get him either, Ill still have a very good player in JvR.

I think he can take Klinger... Even if someone already has klinger... you can do Klinger in GI gear, and Dress Klinger....

Not that I'm forcing Matt Carle out the door but since both Carle and Suter are pending UFAs, is it impossible to trade them for one another? Obviously sweeten the pot on the Flyers end but if Suter doesn't want to play for the Preds anymore and if the Preds are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, does this make sense?

absolutely. 2 rookies as a third pairing is not gonna cut it and the fact that they pushed out lilja is telling enuf...they want him as a back up only. we need a dman.
- isaiah520

What did you think they were bringing in Lilja for in the first place? He's done his job this year.

I couldn't have said it better myself. My thoughts exactly. I wouldn't trade JvR unless we're getting Weber back.

I would only consider a JvR and a high draft pick for Luke Schenn and Nazim Kadri, this way JvR gets replaced at forward, but I'm not even 100% positive I would do this. Toronto would be crazy if they did this.
