When one of the guys from tsn said erik karlsson is on pace to reach 80 points as a defenseman faster then the great bobby orr. The first thing that popped into my head was "we seriously took bailey over this guy"?

Wow, watching the Allstar draft and jt looks big in street clothes and you can tell he's beefed up. Tough to tell that when he's in gear but he looks huge compared to last year and his rookie year.

Tavares has packed on 20 pounds since we drafted him. He's listed at around 206 now.

80pts as a D-men.. sounds like a show off to me... we dont need a guy like that on our team... ill keep Bailey.. thank you very much... he's laying low, trying not to draw too much attention to himself... smart kid!!

Thats because Tavares trains like a animal in off season while the others are out relaxing and having a good time. This kid has been first his whole life. Until he is tops in NHL he won't stop. I play hockey at ice works Sunday's and in a window outside is jt's rookie pic. It's insane how big he is already. If it takes 2 NHL dman to try to take him off the puck imagine in another 2 years.

Bailey has been one of best players on ice lately. 2 shg in last few games. Anyone interested in knowing why? It's b/c on pk it's just him and Martin. Rolston not there to drag the line down.

Btw plenty of other teams passed on karlson as well. I didn't see anyone complaining that we missed him few years ago. It was ugh isles missed in Myers.

Karlson would have not necessary developed the same way. Also he would be in the 5-6 pairing for us so staios could be on top pairing.

Also he would not be allowed to play pp b/c that's rolstons spot. So to answer ur question karlson would have a lot less points on the isles.

Im still stuggling with why Rolston get PP point over Hamonic.

you can do that for every draft...the draft is usually a crap shoot after the first couple of players...their were guys their last night who weren't even drafted

"to a Man" .. same as saying Every one of them said Hamilton is untouchable.

Boston needs a solid puck moving D-man. Especially for their PP. kaberle was a guy they picked up last year and he had 11 assists in their cup run. He was traded for Wheeler who was once untouchable. Would this be a great trade for the Islanders.. yes. That said if I am in Boston office I make the trade b/c one thing all Islander fans should know better than most is you just don't know with prospects. When you have a shot at the cup you HAVE to take the shot b/c u don't know when it comes crashing down on top of you.. ask Pittsburgh.

Doug H may be the next pronger of Chara.. then again he may be Chris Philips. or Wishart, Robin Sadler, of Scott Scissons (I know he is not a defenseman.. save it .. u get the point).

Blake Wheeler was NEVER traded for Tomas Kaberle. Kaberle was traded by the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Boston Bruins for Joe Colborne, a first-round draft pick in 2011 and a conditional draft pick in 2012.

The Boston Bruins traded Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart to the Atlanta Thrashers for Boris Valabik and Rich Peverley.

The only choice. IF, your looking for a Captain that LEADS BY EXAMPLE & leaves it ALL on the ICE EVERY NIGHT. And is mature beyond his years.

Ever notice that when great "D" of past era's are mentioned. Its always Orr and Coffe? It's like Denny Potvin never existed! I'll give Orr top billing. But Coffe wasnt near the "D" man Potvin was.

I think the whole picked last thing is over blown. After all we're talking about 40 or so of the best players in the world. A very ELITE group. What does it matter if your picked 1st or last? I'd be PISSED if I were picked 2nd to last and lost out on the CAR!!!!!!!!!!! Next time I played against the captain who chose me I'd deposit his A$$ into the Crowd.

Myers and Karlsson were both ranked 4th among north american and european skaters. Bailey ranked 15th. So they missed out on a franchise blueliner either way for a guy who most scouts felt at worst is a 3rd line center.

You can't tell with him sometimes. Remember how we all said dipietro was done going into this year and he said no he is gonna be back at top form since he was the most defensive about dp. Kinda figured he was doing the same for bailey.

sarcastic?? Why would anyone want a show off D-men that puts up almost a point per game?? That's just over kill & makes the game unfun to watch. Not only dont i want a guy like that on my team, he should be banned from the NHL all together.

If DP is the number one goalie next year, we don't make the playoffs period. So yes I don't think he will be leading us to the playoffs next year.
