If you want to get better right now, then there just aren't that many other options around who won't cost you an arm and a leg.

Getzlaf? Staal? WAY too expensive. Good prospect, good roster player, 1st. At least. Statsny? I guess... but too high a cap hit for a player just doesn't seem all that good.

Carter makes the most sense. And can be had for a decent price.

The other option is to go with Bozak...Thats not gonna cut it if u want playoffs in the next couple years...

if we bring in a center on deadline day, and grabo is no longer needed i hope we get what we can for him, it's not like we're getting out of the first round this year anyway

grabo who is 27 still very young has 16 goals and 32 pts, last year he has 29 goals and 58pts.
