but Doma, you have to think about the other team too right ...how many teams can afford to trade away their number one center to be replaced with Bozak or Connolly and some AHLers or defender? (none...I would imagine)....If were making a trade with a team for their number one center, they are going to need atleast Grabo to help out, in addition to whom ever else we trade them. - noename09
That is true. And if he's in the package for a #1 C that's fine with me.
My scenarios are if we were to re-sign and keep Grabo. He very well could be included.
I can't see anything other then Kulemin taking a mulligan and getting a new 1 year deal at about the same bucks.
If I've learned anything so far this year it's that the Leafs can get as much out of Bozak as they can out of Connolly. I think his 1 year deal is moveable in the summer. So, for me, I re-sign Grabo if the dollars are right. - The Law
I agree that it's likely that Kulemin gets a 1 year do-over contract.
Bozak just seems to click with Kessel and Lupul and Connolly doesn't. For only 1 year someone may be interested in trading for Connolly...but we wouldn't get a huge amount in return.

Keith Aulie is banging Ryan Getzlaf's sister. - Brian Huddle
Dude, please. What are you trying to do, make Getzlaf hate Toronto?
Keith Aulie is currently in a very respectful relationship with Ryan Getzlaf's sister.
Mr. Aulie calls her all the time, and does very thoughtful little things all the time, like sends her little notes telling her how much he loves her, or sending her gift certificates so that she and her friends can go out to fancy restaurants for a nice brunch.
"Banging" is what Mr. Aulie does to tramps who he meets in hotel bars while on road trips.
Oh crap - didn't mean to write that last sentence. Help - how do I edit????
no clue....but it works well for us to resign him for cheap I think hes having an off year production wise, but hes still doing the little things...I can see him either turn things around soon offensively, if not return to normal next year. Just a slump...this guy should be a gem for us - noename09
I agree. The 2nd we trade Kulemin he'll turn into a superstar, I can ALMOST guarantee it.

Forsure ...and it wouldn't be about the return. The benefit would be cap room for a guy like Grabo or GetzlafNashStaalCarterRyanParise.

I definately don't consider him a 1st line centre at this point.
However, keep in mind that Bozak is not a 1st line centre and he is performing admirably in between Kessel and Lupul. So far those two have shown that they can perform above a PPG pace as long as they have a centre that compliments them. Colborne may never be that #1 centre, but I could see his game complimenting Kessel and Lupul very well. Add to the fact that he has size, and some decent hands, and it oculd be a very good fit.
I do not expect the leafs to contend for the cup any time soon, so what is wrong with giving colborne the shot at fulfilling the position. It would be better if he could fill it rather than trading away a ton of pieces for a guy whose game may not work well with them. Its worth a try in my opinion, and I don't feel as if we are in any rush to win now.
As a matter of fact if we don't make the playoffs this year and Wilson is gone, I will be even happier with our progress - mfreedman
Kid comes up. Kid is thrown on the 1st line. Kid doesn't perform up to what a 1st line centre should do. Leafs Nation and the media go ape-poop. Kid loses confidence. Kid is traded for a bag of pucks. Kid does well for another team, while the bag of pucks Toronto received wears out, develops a hole in the bottom, and is thrown out.
Some of us call that the "1970-2006 Leafs Player Development Program."
