How do you expect to get a number one center without trading Grabo?
- noename09

Kulemin will be the big question. With only 5 goals this year. What is his excuse??

Tim Connelly was supposed to be a ppg guy, not so much.

There are many changes that need to be addressed.

Was he ever actually "lazy" injury prone he was but I don't think he was ever "lazy" never had a chance to ever gain any chemistry with any team he was on lol
- Domaju

He was never a hard worker. He was a pretty boy with a booming shot that he got off well on the one-timer.

I wouldn't say lazy, but he didn't have the normal rep as being a guy with work ethic.

With either Bozak or Connolly and some other players like Schenn and/or Kadri and/or Mac and/or some AHLers and/or a goalie (not sure which one) and/or Gardiner and/or some other guys
- Domaju

but Doma, you have to think about the other team too right ...how many teams can afford to trade away their number one center to be replaced with Bozak or Connolly and some AHLers or defender? (none...I would imagine)....If were making a trade with a team for their number one center, they are going to need atleast Grabo to help out, in addition to whom ever else we trade them.

I can't see anything other then Kulemin taking a mulligan and getting a new 1 year deal at about the same bucks.

If I've learned anything so far this year it's that the Leafs can get as much out of Bozak as they can out of Connolly. I think his 1 year deal is moveable in the summer. So, for me, I re-sign Grabo if the dollars are right.

The funny thing about Lupul...

I remember on an old forum I was a part of called "LeafsCentral" someone brought up Lupul as a trade target.. waaaay back during the offseason when Dion got the C. All the people on that board were all...

"EFF THAT! Why would we want that huge contract for a lazy injury prone one-dimensional player?"

And now he's loved by Leafs Nation.

- Brian Huddle

I can list on one hand the number of guys who have been traded to the Leafs, who Leafs Nation haven't loved. That's kind of a problem around these parts.

Of course, one of those guys who we did turn on was recently inducted into the HHOF...

They have to qualify him at like 2.something.

no clue....but it works well for us to resign him for cheap I think hes having an off year production wise, but hes still doing the little things...I can see him either turn things around soon offensively, if not return to normal next year. Just a slump...this guy should be a gem for us

Depends what they need. If I'm Carolina or Anaheim and I'm exchanging offers with the Leafs ....the soon to be UFA Grabo isn't my focus .... I want guys like Schenn, Kulemin, Gardiner, etc... maybe Grabo's involved ...maybe he's not.

If BB gets the big name centre ....then he likely tries to include one of his centres in the deal or turns around and makes another deal to move a centre.

Lots of options.

And certainly not next year.

C'mon, my waffle friends - if he can't stick in the NHL this year, do you really want to build your plans for next year around him as the #1?

By the way, that was a rhetorical question.

- Atomic Wedgie

I definately don't consider him a 1st line centre at this point.

However, keep in mind that Bozak is not a 1st line centre and he is performing admirably in between Kessel and Lupul. So far those two have shown that they can perform above a PPG pace as long as they have a centre that compliments them. Colborne may never be that #1 centre, but I could see his game complimenting Kessel and Lupul very well. Add to the fact that he has size, and some decent hands, and it oculd be a very good fit.

I do not expect the leafs to contend for the cup any time soon, so what is wrong with giving colborne the shot at fulfilling the position. It would be better if he could fill it rather than trading away a ton of pieces for a guy whose game may not work well with them. Its worth a try in my opinion, and I don't feel as if we are in any rush to win now.

As a matter of fact if we don't make the playoffs this year and Wilson is gone, I will be even happier with our progress

Ah ok. Well I'd argue that it's changed since he's been here. Probably because of what I've seen a few people say; he's got a second chance at his career that he almost lost. So now that he has that second chance, he's not letting go of it.

I'm no professional, but I can ding a deer at 300 meters easy. I use a very nice scope that's duct taped to my gun (Scope built for an AK-74) but it's my fav. In Ontario before I moved, you couldn't even join a gun club to shoot, they were mostly for police or rich guys.
