Good point.....I would assume that either Colborne or Kadri would be part of a trade for 1C, but Bozak is a C too...so ideally Connolly 2C, Bozak 3C....hmmm. so we either keep Grabbo, forget 1C and grab a power winger(Nash,Ryan,Parise) instead, or like you say trade Grabbo in part to get 1C....

If we DON'T get a #1 C then it would likely be Bozak, Grabo, Connolly, Steckel for next year with Colborne in the minors. then the following year Bozak, Grabo, Colborne, Steckel. (with Connolly either walking or being traded at the deadline)

If we DO get a #1 C then it would likely be #1C, Grabo, Connolly/Bozak (who ever isn't traded), Steckel with 1 more year in the minors for Colborne. And since you don't think Connolly gets traded that would mean it's #1C, Grabo, Connolly (Bozak traded), and Steckel with 1 more year in the minros for Colborne, then the next year it would be #1C, Grabo, Colborne, Steckel. (with Connolly either walking or traded at the deadline).

Either way, I only see 1 more year in the minors for Colborne...UNLESS both Bozak AND Connolly get traded. If they both are gone for that #1 C than It'll be #1C, Grabo, Colborne, Steckel next season.

Those are the 3 scenarios I see if we were to resign Grabo.

And since there isn't really a #1C available via FA this summer I don't worry about picking up a #1C without having to get rid of Connolly or Bozak

They really are. Lupul, Kessel, Bozak, Gardiner, and Armstrong are VERY vocal and teasing of each other on Twitter. And they crack BrownBeaut jokes about Mike Brown all the time too so they must be close with him also. It's a great thing to see. It's also why they are so willing to play for one another.
