20 years of playoffs = only one thing: good players drafted.

2000: Niklas Kronwall (29th overall)
2001: None (Igor Grigorenko (62nd overall))
2002: None (Jiri Hudler 2nd round (58th overall))
2003: None (Jimmy Howard 2nd round (64th overall))
2004: None (Johan Franzen 3rd round (97th overall))
2005: Jakub Kindl (19th overall))
2006: None (Cory Emmerton 2nd round (41st overall))
2007: Brendan Smith (27th overall)
2008: Thomas McCollum (30th overall)
2009: None (Landon Ferraro (32nd overall))
2010: Riley Sheahan (21st overall)
2011: None (Tomas Jurco 35th overall)

when you look at the names drafted...

Hudler, Howard, Franzen, Kronwall - these are all guys on the team and doing well. you have guys like Kindl, smith who are a year or 2 away from being nhl'ers...

over the years they have lost guys like Yzerman, Federov, Larionov, Hossa, Hull, Coffey, Ciccarelli and im sure a few others im missing.

you dont stick put in the playoffs for 20 years and win like 4 cups if you dont draft well, cmon dude. lol this is a ridiculous!

The way its cooked is probably the same, but the meat and sauce might be different. Never had a gyro myself

Gyro is a greek specialty. A mix of lamb and beef, ground together then cooked on the same contraption that Donair is. What type of meet is in Donair?

im showing they have no picks that are anywhere near the top yet they still have a competetive team.

what do you think im trying to show?

your saying detroit cant draft.

then how have they been a playoff team for 20 years with 4 cups?

thats what im showing you...

EDIT: do you think this team would be as good as they are without drafting Datsyuk and Zetterberg? I know not.

Well, the sauce is not a part of the meat is it? Cuz if it's not and the meat is called donair and the ingredients are the same, then Donair=Gyro. If Donair refers to the sauce then we're in a whole different discussion alltogether

Beef, or something like it lol.. spiced up ... gyro uses tzatziki sauce, the sause on a donair is a sweet taste, really goes against what you would think would taste good, but for some reason is very good

So, Donair is the name of the sauce or the meat?

its the name of the dish or sandwhich, you can get it without sauce if you want.

it might be like having a hamburger and putting your own special sauce on it and calling it a big mac... but its still a burger

It seems that when it's slow at work for me, the conversation on here is slow. When it's busy, I can't keep up!

WHERE THE HELL IS THE MIDDLE GROUND??

I just have a bad feeling that Trade deadline day is going to be extra busy at work...

Donair is the name of the whole thing. It is a donair once it gets the sweet garlic sauce. A gyro is the name of the greek version, it has tzakakzkkzkakzki sauce on it.

Nobody knows for sure.

If I were you I would not ask that question again, not even in your mind. Forget you ever wondered.
