Liles deserves that contract. Also have to like that he took the discount for the term and home team.
Can't picture anything going on prior to the All Star game. I picture the Leafs saving their trade news for after the weekend. - stevecarpetman
home team? he's from Indiana. |

Tampa ...... Or the Blue Jackets - ky678468
tampa would be an interesting thought.. lookin at his stats now and he was 21-18-5 for them in 09-10
half decent that year too..at 2.87gaa and .909sv% |
|
|
|
"Home team discount" doesn't mean that the player is actually from that particular city, it means that said player took a discount to remain with the team/organization.
For example, Nick Lidstrom took a "home team discount"... He's not from Detroit...

Anyone think the Leafs put a claim in for Nittymaki? - stevecarpetman
If they do put in a claim - I dont think Antero will fall to them - he will be scooped up by another team |

And its not like they have much to loose as far as their goaltending goes.
Now that Liles is locked up what defenseman do you think is being moved at the deadline? |

tampa is on a roll recently though......if he makes it past the cellar dwellers, I think Yost is spot on, Ottawa needs a back-up.

hate to say it but i think schenn is who it will be... toronto has too much cap tied up on the blueline now for certain and he'll have to move someone close to the same hit
ie: schenn
unless by some miracle komi is moved... now that he's playing well i have the faintest of hopes lol |

Wrong San Jose goalie from finland, pass!!!
Reimer just needs to find his mojo, and the monster is playing good enough right now, Besides if we trade Reimer he'll defiantly be the real deal and burn us for years to come. - ky678468
I like Reimers mechanics, when he's playing up to his standards. He's very economical, and is very similar to Ed Belfour. He's stong on his angles and when he plays outside the lip of the crease, he is a very formidable goaltender. I really think that he'll bounce back, maybe not this year, but next. The concussion has messed him up, but that will pass. He should go on a conditioning stint, with the Marlies, to get his game back to where it was. |

called my agent after the first meeting at training camp after Burkie stood up and spoke and I told my agent I'd go through a wall for this guy. That's how I feel and that hasn't changed from that first day."
amazing, players love burkie, thats why players now want to come here and stay here, unlike the gm in buffalo for example.
komi will be gone next year with the buyout.

Playing well likely means Komi stays...
Gardiner or Schenn goes.
Unless Burke making a trade just to dump a player and if thats the case Gunnarson for a draft pick.....

Schenn will get a good return, because of his age. He is also a right shooting defenceman and we have a glut of those, right now. We already have Komiserik, Phaneuf and Franson on that side of the ice. The left side has Liles, Gunnerson and Gardiner. We also have Aulie on the left side. Schenn may be the odd man out, on the right side and could become expendible. If he can bring us a top 6 forward, with size, then it's the deal that is required. |

We are also so deep in blueline prospects and potential, Schenn is quite expendable... but only for the Deal of Deals. |

only way schenn goes is for big forward, if not he stays and komi gets bought out next year,
dreger says bluejackets want to trade carter and he wants out, also says it wil take a first round pick and a forward that can play now, not alot of teams want him, if ur burkie u do it. 1st td pick and grabo. grabo is a ufa will likely get 3.5-4 mill, carter is a 5.27 mill cap hit for next 10 years, 40 goal guy at 27 u do it. you can also keep schenn with that deal. |

not rely komi gets his money, and can sighn elsewere and make more money in the end, so burkie is actually helping him pocket more money.
komi will sighn with another team for at least 2 mill a season if he gets a buy-out |

Likewise. It makes perfect sense. Reimer will not get anywhere sitting on the bench. RW will not risk him playing while we are on the cusp of playoffs so let the kid play down the street |
