quite frankly, I dont want either...for the price they will cost I dosnt really address our needs...but out of both Nash over Carter all day....Carter is big and plays center but hes soft and hes another scorer...we need a gritty playmaker.

Yep ,nash is a winger leafs have plenty of good ones .Carter is a liabilty thanks that albatross contract.Hard to find the gritty playmaker ,but i hope BB takes his time and doesnt sell the farm trying to shoehorn a player that doesnt fit your exact needs.Long term health of the leafs is far more important than some mid to lower playoff spot

I go to Ottawa often...like the city...last time I went for Leafs vs Sens game I got made fun of for wearing my Leafs jersey all day and at the rink....sat between and in front of other sens fans who chirped me often...final score? 5-0 Leafs

What is earth really?? in the east all the teams are all about the same save a few big ones Philly,boston etc.Ottawa wasnt as bad as the media wanted them to be .We still had guys Like Spezza,MM,alfie etc.With these players being healthy and productive there was no way we where going to end up in the basement

Yep,BM wont sell any of our kids either unless it fits the mantra of a rebuilding club.Its not that big a deal that ottawa is in a playoff spot the east sucks and we have taken advantage of it a little .It still doesnt change the fact we are no where close to being a contender and have plenty of holes to fill.

So if we crash we crash ,the payoff is we still have our first and we can hopefully draft another piece

This...keep Reimer, ...ride Gus for now, we have Scrivens as insurance right now...if Gus goes down to injury after the trade deadline, then we might be in trouble, but both goalies are the same in that they need a string of starts to get into form..Reimer just might pick up where he left off if he has continuous starts....either that or change direction completely and trade for someone like Halak/Harding now
