Considering what good friends Luke and Stamkos are, I have to wonder why he's not working with Roberts too. - mykokes
well, Roberts is with Dallas now. I don't know if he can train guys from other teams |

Yep. Leeman was bringing her around to team functions. Would have killed Iafrate on the inside to see her with someone else... and happy. - Brian Huddle

He does a summer camp every year with some guys like Brayden Schenn, Stammer, Del Zotto, etc. |

The guy is a winner. Even if he only ever won the one cup(and early on), he has an unparalleled work ethic. I don't mind if he divides the dressing room, so long as his side wins out. I wish we had him with the Leafs, helping to train the guys. Wouldn't have to worry about Schenn's skating, or Kessel and Kadri's strength.
on that note... think the Leafs are gonna get Schenn to work with a team of skating coaches this offseason? - Feeling Glucky?
schenn needs to take it upon himself to go to roberts this summer.....look at neal this season and stamkos the last couple.
it works, plain and simple.
schenn is painfully immobile. |

I know Burke and Murray are close...but I dont think Burke should be giving him advice on managing his players in the offseason.... |

There's a name for women like that........and a comrade like that.... - JIMI-JAMES
Exact ages: Leeman was 26 and Iafrate was 24 at the time. Iafrate wasn't the nicest chap with his wifey either......
At that age, marriage was the furthest thing from my mind.
Many hockey players are douches on the road too, I know of one prominent Vancouver Canuck who is supposedly happily married but banged a bartender I used to work with. All you need is one teamate to break the code and poop blows up.......that ties into a certain former Montreal Canadien too, an angry wife found out about said player's antics and got her revenge with another Hab. |

im looking for the comment you responded but since i couldnt find it, Ill respond to this post. I disagree. If Detroit knew that nobody else had even heard of these guys, they would be stupid to draft them in the early rounds. By drafting how they did, they managed to get multiple first round talents in the late round of the draft. |

Do you think they will want Getzlaf fighting? or Staal? or Nash? or Parise? or....ANYONE ON THE FIRST LINE?
I think if we are going to contend then we should target Kessel as a 2nd line RW. Ideally, we pick up Getzlaf, and sign Parise as a FA.
Lupul-Getzlaf-Parise
Kadri-Connolly-Kessel
Kulemin-Bozak-Army
Brown-Steckel-Crabb
*These two could be switched
Phanuef-Liles
Gunnarson-Franson
Gardiner-Komisarek
Aulie
With the following on the way out:
Schenn
Lombardi
MacArthur
Grabo
If this was our team going into next year I think we could do some serious damage. It would also give Colborne more time in the A, and he could come up at the deadline to replace Connolly and free up the extra cash to resign Getz.

Think we'll get Parise at only 6M?
And you don't necessarily want the top-liners fighting, no... but you want the other teams to know that they will defend themselves.
Also, isn't Parise a LW?
wouldn't it be more along the lines of
Parise-Getzlaf-Kessel
Lupul-Connolly-Kadri(seems he can line up all forward positions)
Kulemin-Bozak-Army
?

If a guy divides the dressing room, neither side wins.
He's got this reputation now as a giant fitness and nutrition expert - which has been happily promoted by the hockey media.
Not a lot to back up his claims as the world's greatest expert on all things, however.
And since we are on the subject:
Leafs fans blamed MLSEL management for not re-signing Roberts. Truth is, he wanted to get as far away from Toronto as possible.
Because he left his wife for his wife's best friend. |

I wonder who Tavares worked with? Was it also Roberts?
Because he definitely doesn't look like a guy who's biggest problem is skating. |

no need for parise and his 7 million dollar contract....that money needs to go to a power forward,we already have a parise. |

And by "many", I think you mean "all."
But here's the thing: why would you do it to a teammate's wife? For eff's sakes, you are just asking for hassles. |

Zetterberg became a known commodity after the 2002 Olympics......as for Lidstrom, noone was sure he'd come over here to play. In fact, I'm willing to bet if he wasn't on the 91 Canada Cup Sweden team, he would've stayed in Sweden a lot longer. |

So the seven guys the Wings selected before Datsyuk played a total of 307 NHL games (305 for Fischer, 2 for Ryan Barnes, 0 for everyone else), and you think waiting until the 7th round to select the guy they thought was the biggest diamond in the rough was part of a master plan??? |

Anybody gonna watch the draft tonight? For all the flack this game gets, I'll watch it. I'll even watch it tonight. I'm hoping Kessel is the first pick..maybe Lupul can talk Chara into it. If not, I hope they have fun with him and pick him last again. |
