It didn't help that Carter and Nash haven't exactly clicked.
- Reveen

It also doesn't help that....

-Steve Mason exists
-Tyutin and Wisniewski's cap hits equal Keiths and Seabrooks
-Mark Dekanich was suppose to be the back-up
-Nash is over-rated
-Carter is not a passer
-They ruined Derrick Brassard
-They thought Vermette was a #1 center
-They thought Johansen would put up 50 points

You know, little stuff.

Yeah Raymond is not gritty at all.Vancouver does not need Hemskey and Edmonton does not need Raymond.

What did you think of last nights game. It was some what entertaining and somewhat uneventful. I know we will be rivals soon but you have to admit there was very little hatered there .No bang for the buck for the paying customer.

I thought that was one of the most entertaining games of the year as an Oilers fan.

Shows you how boring they really are.

i think, given what the oilers think he's worth compared to what the rest of the league likely thinks he's worth, that possibility is getting higher and higher every day.

not knocking his talent, when he actually performs, but i don't think most people feel that he's worth what the oilers will want for him.

- sensarmy_11

Not you or I or anyone else here knows what the oilers think hemsky is worth or what anther team thinks he is worth. Just because Oiler fans over value him and other teams fans under value him doesn't mean thats what the gm's think.
I believe hemsky holds the cards right now, if he wants out the oilers will probably move him for less than they want, if he wants to stay then the team can hold out for a good offer or re-sign him

So I was going to type up who I wanted to stay and go on our defense for next season but I gave up after 5 minutes.
Whitney-_______
Gilbert-Smid
Barker

Sutton, Petry, Potter, Peckham. Where do they fit? Potter was just resigned so I'm sure he'll be a 5-6 but who stays and who goes?

I'd be down with that, I think Barret Jackman would also look good here, but some ufa's will resign with their team

If Whitney can stay healthy and we can find someone to play with him our d won't look as terrible. Especially if Smid-Gilbert can keep playing good shutdown d and not be forced to take more minutes than they can handle

Potter is alright as a 5/6, hasn't looked too shabby on the pp either in Whit's place. But I still think that someone like Sutton is a better option for a 5/6. Either way if we can't at least find one other defenseman to play 1/2 we'll be in trouble
