He is a right handed shot, and he does not have the Injury history that either Havlat or Sheppard do. And Sheppard just plain sucks.

But overall you are right about that Carter has been injured still played more games then Havlat I beleive.

Yeah, I think he's played 5 more games than Havlat. I just don't think it would be a good idea to trade for ANOTHER player having injury problems this season.

Does anyone think we could realistically pull off a trade for Derek Roy? And would you do it if so?

We could, but not really sure we need another Center. We really need wingers badly.

I myself am not a huge Roy fan, he's not a bad player, but very streaky and not really that big. If we trade with Buffalo (And Wilson has traded with them before) I would prefer Robin Regehr, or Jason Pominville. But fear we will settle for a Joceyn Hecht, or Paul Gaustad.

I actually 100% agree with this.

I did used to like Gaustad, but I haven't followed him recently, and I assume that he probably never progressed, considering he has never really broke out with the Sabres. Though, depending on his contract situation, if we could get him for practically nothing, I'd take him.

Right, the Canucks, Blackhawks, Red Wings, Blues, Kings, Bruins, Rangers and Penguins teams all just need to treat them lightly and the Cup is theirs.

I said "play to their advantage" not "allow them to stroll to an easy championship".

Do you agree or disagree that the less pressure on the Sharks the better?

They've found ways to fail as favorites and as underdogs so who the hell knows.

That said, its January and a lot can change between now and the Spring. Injuries to Shark players or to opponents; trades; lightning being caught in a bottle, who knows. I'd say the Sharks have no hope of winning the Cup at all unless they get healthy, strengthen their scoring and special teams play, and then they like every team that wins have to catch some breaks along the way (e.g., like Boston last year that won game 7 on round one in OT against Montreal, else we'd be talking about the Stanley Cup Champion Vancouver Canucks).
