In order to bring in Rick Nash Wilson will most likely have to trade either Thornton or Marleau. You know it and I know it, this is just not going to happen. - Aliaksandrhn
Doubtful, you would not get that much for Nash, but I would trade either of those players for Nash. |

As the Deadline approaches I don't expect much more then an over rated average 3rd line grinder, but I can hope. Here is my list wish list.
1. Zach Parise
2. Rick Nash
3. Erik Staal
4. Cory Sarich
5. Jeff Carter
6. Bobby Ryan
7. Tummo Ruutu
8. Ryan Suter
But my guess is we settle for something more like this
1. J. Hecht
2. Bryan Allen
3. Tim Gleasaon
4. Pavel Kubina
5. Dominic Moore
6. Kristen Huselus - Sharkfan48
Well you make this wishlist, and state that you don't believe any of it is at all possible because DW is incompetent, blah blah blah...
And so Mr. Best Couch GM In the World... Why don't you give us a rundown of realistic trades YOU could pull off to get each of those 8 players... |

Hect just got a bad concussion, got elbowed in the head. I believe this is 3rd concussion in 6months you don't want him. |

Niittymaki cleared... Lost 2 bucks to a guy at work because I thought he would get claimed. How awkward after the things he said. |

You lost a lot of money!
I was shocked he didn't get picked up by a team like Tamps bay. They need goalie help. |

I was sure Tampa would submit a claim. Then this morning I remembered that he actually played for them in 2009-10 but they let him walk. At that moment my heart sank and I knew my toonie was all but lost. |

Considering Wilson's requirements, that A.) The player be a rental, B.) The player be a marginal 3rd line grinder, and C.) the player play for a Southeast division team I think that actually limits whom he will acquire.
As for my thoughts I would trade Anybody but Clowe, Couture, Murray and Pavelski at this point for Parise. Parise is exactly the type of player the team needs. He plays with passion and heart, and is a Leader. All 3 qualities mean he does not fit in Wilson's mold.
Realistically what I think happens is you see Braun or Demers and one of our goalie prospects Probably Sexsmith to Tampa for Dominic Moore. Yes it is an overpayment, but then again your talking Doug Wilson. |

You didn't really answer my question. Let's see some trade proposals. I want to see your genius GM mind at work. Show us the obvious trades that the incompetent Doug Wilson will pass up. |

What are you so happy about? He already bashed Wilson for making this trade on Working the Corners blog.
As far as I am concerned, there's no particular reason to either like or dislike this trade. |

Oh I don't care at all. Though with my limited knowledge of both players, I'd prob prefer Kennedy. |

Re: Kennedy Trade
A. RFA at seasons end (check)
B. Marginal Grinder (check)
C. Played for a SE Team (check)
Now my feelings, what is the point? What does Kennedy bring too the table that Mitchell, McGinn, Ferriero, DesJardin, Handzus dont?

I am glad Couture was picked last. That will knock him down a few pegs for sure. He is a very good player but is not really an All Star calibre player yet. Someone else (Thornton or Marleau likely) must have turned the ASG down for Couture to get selected. Good to keep Couture grounded |

Yeah, right. Same points made on that blog.
What's the big deal with admitting that you post under a different name on a different board? There's no shame in it, is there? |

I have no shame because I know I don't post on the working the corners blog. I seldom read the blog to begin with because David Pollak is an Idiot. |

Ok, then there's another chap posting there who makes EXACTLY the same arguments using EXACTLY the same expressions as you. Every time. Very weird, I would say. |

Why precisely is it helpful to 'knock him down a few pegs'? How exactly is he not 'grounded'?
Or since he was picked last maybe he is just as unworthy of being called an All-Star as last year's last-to-be-picked player. Yes, you know, that loser Phil Kessel. |

How you can actually think something like this amazes me. Couture is one of the most grounded, hardest working players on the Sharks. When Thornton or Marleau decide to take a night off Couture is always playing the same way: Attention to detail, incredible hockey knowledge for a 22 year old, brilliant in all 3 zones. Now, i'm not a Marleau fan at all, but I would never have suggested he should be picked last. I would have rooted for him to be as high a pick as possible cuz he's on my team, the Sharks. Sorry, but that is a dumb thing to say in my opinion. |
