The way the Ducks are playing now they won't move anyone. Also, Murray said that he was looking for roster players. Colborne and Kadri don't fill that. They would want Schenn, another roster player AND Colborne plus a pick IMO..

I just don't see the Leafs as having much to trade anyone..

- Pairo11

They have no problem trading away multiple 1st round picks for Kessel... I am sure they will find something..

So you think trading for picks and letting the kids play is the best way to go??

I am still hoping that we can pull in a little talent for the future..

I think Roy, Stafford, Boyes, and Sekera all need their salarys dumped ASAP!

- MillerTime1130

You need to bottom out. It is the easiest way to acquire your #1 need, which is a #1 center. Also it is the best way to start the cap situation over again to make better decisions on how the money is spent. Rookie contracts with players that make a positive difference on your team is a must these days to be able to make a Cup run. Guys like Marchand, Seguin, Ladd, Toews, Kane, Keith, Malkin, Staal, Fleury, Letang, Kennedy, Scuderi in the past three years come to mind.

Rookie contracts are gold.

Currently the Sabres "gold" is tied up with Ennis, Gerbe, Myers for this year, Adam, Weber, McNabb, Gragnani. Something tells me those don't look like the others I mentioned.

a 1st is a little talent for the future.. the isles might have a top 5 pick.. and you want to dump the salaries i traded away.. then you can try and go after one of NSHs dmen..

although none of this will happen we will trade away one of hecht, goose or boyes for a third rounder and trade a second for some random former 2nd liner with one good year currently playing like an ahl player

the ducks can get a package like that from any team...

getzlaf is a bonafide #1 center and myers came up because he's projected to be a #1, franchise d-man

PS... thats totally cool... Forget about Kassian, Brennan, Pysk, Foligno, Whitmore, and Tropp.... Who are they!? No one knows yet just like how no one knew about those players before well... they won Championships..

Seguin watched from the press box a lot last year FYI

Watching last nights game i was wanting them to lose.. although it is nice to see miller play a good game and steal one, the rest of the team blew we need to keep losing to open the eyes of those in charge to make the drastic moves that are needed.. i fear they are blinded by the "injuries"

- MillerTime1130

My analysis is objective. That is why it is valued. Logic is my only pedestal. My analysis was Stanley Cup Champion centric, using examples from Boston, Chicago, and Pittsburgh, the past three champions. If you would like I could further dig up info on Detroit and Anaheim to point out their great value on rookie contracts as well (Getzlaf/Perry come to mind).

Your problem is that you don't like the truth.

Leino 4.5 Million...
Hecht 3.5 Mill
Roy 4.0 Mill
Boyes 4.0 Mill
Staff 4.0 Million

That is 15 million in cap space that I wish/hope they get rid of... then go after Parise, Ruutu, or Jarret Stall...

I still think Lee Stempniak a Buffalo boy should come to his roots after this year too

Here is a question....

Who built the Sabres squads that was one period away from the Cup Final?

Or who went on the next year made it to the ECF again...

Under an ownership that valued the dollar signs over the win column...

Pegula made a promise to commit to wins. To make Buffalo into a hockey destination and a contender every year.

Its been six months now that hes had control over this team...

Are these just growing pains? Should we nail Darcy and Ruff to a cross because we are not tops in the East? Nobody in the Sabres organization (Black, Terry, Ruff, Regier, or the players for that matter) said that this is our year. We are going to be leaps and bounds above where we were last year.

Im not calling for the removal of the front office and coach nor do I advocate for them to stay. I just think its best to wait and see. In the grand scheme of things we have been given a super small sample size of the new franchise. Yes its not going so well but it takes time.

We as fans (myself included) have been riding an insane high of emotions. A new and rich, dedicated owner combined with acquisitions of highly touted players (something that is new to us) gave us some fake perception that its stanley cup or bust RIGHT NOW.

I think the removal of players would help the team much more than the removal of the GM and coach IMO. Our problems dont seem to be rooted off the ice. Our squad is relatively the same as last years and they just took a huge plunge in every respect of their game. I dont think Ruff is preaching a new message or coaching any differently.

i agree with the "pens-centric" post...

kennedy is good but a product of the talent around him...scuderi is good as well, but not on a shea weber level...weber, btw, was a second round pick

keith was a second round pick...

i like your posting, but kinda snarky with the "something tells me" part

So in your logic and analysis which is objective... now that Malkin, Letang, Kennedy, Fleury, and Staal are all out of their rookie contracts that means that Pitt is screwed on making it back to winning a Cup again??

Think about it...

You're right, I don't know anything about those players... Aside from the fact he is a UFA far removed from any rookie contract.

The other premise of that comment is laughable as well. Who ever heard of Malkin, Staal, Toews, Kane, Seguin before they entered the league...

I guess it is a perfect time for a week break... Gaustad, Ennis, and Boyes will all be back after the break...

No thanks to Stempniak...career underperformed.

Stoll on the other hand could be interesting if his cap hit can be lowered with a new contract. A great 3rd line center.

I would like them to look into stealing Kyle Brodziak from minny too.
