E Verify - know it well - and most of the time employees have to go through that process for government subsidized work... IF that service was mandated - it would emliminate the ability for illegals to work in the US... - atlsabsfan
It would severely limit the amount of illegals getting jobs. Soon enough all states will be forced to hire using the E-Verify system.
I don't know. It's good and it's bad. Like it was said above there are a lot of illegals that are completely honest people looking to find a way to provide for their families and they are willing to do the lower paying jobs that most legal residents are no longer willing to do. However there are also a lot of bad illegals just going through the motions in order to qualify for a benefit by applying for a job that they never intend to show up for or work just long enough to get that benefit.
I used to collect medical bills. If you don't have ins, you get billed a lower amount than if you have ins. It's the hospitals way to compensate for the people that don't pay.
Many hospitals will settle with an individual as well. The problem is many just don't have it. - dadeadhead

We can't have two sets of rules though. Things have to be done legally.

I have problems hiring people at $15/hr - up to $19//hr for being a simple laborer with full medical benefits and retirement (without the individual having to pay anything for it). Hard work, but cant find people willing to work...

Yep.
It's a pretty sad state of affairs when I review a case and see where a nonimmigrant is granted permanent legal residency and on the same day runs across town to the social services office to sign up for welfare, food stamps, social security, you name it...
This happens all day long in every city in America. And you and I are paying for it..
