Rare that Burke re-signs a guy mid-season.

As much as i love Armstrong, and want him to succeed, I think his time in TO has come to an end. 3M for a guy who won't even play half a season is too much.

Lombardi and him, if not traded, could be huge vet presences on the Marlies this time next season.

Man, it hurts that he is my favorite Leaf. I really hope he returns to form next year, or the last 1/3 of this year

Aulie was playing top line minutes last year, yea he has gone down, but 2.0M is not large at all for a defenceman.

Gunnar wasn't playing 20+mins a night when he signed that contract

Kuli was a 30 goal scorer last season. His bad season this year is why he isn't asking for 4.0+M. 3.0M is comparable to armstrong.

Franson at 2.0 is only off by .5 in either direction imo, he has been very valuable down this stretch, and theres no way he stays at 0.8M when resigning. 1.5-2.5 is realistic.

Elliot had garbage numbers when he signed that contract. Reimer got 1.8 when playing well down the stretch last year, Gus will be around the same. 2.0M isn't unrealistic, maybe 2.5 is a bit too much.

Aulie wasn't playing 20+ minutes a night last season he was just playing with Phaneuf. Schenn plays with Phaneuf now but doesn't get anywhere near 20+ minutes a night.

Kulemin was also a 16 goal scorer before that. He's on pace for 30 something points this year so I doubt they'd give him 3+ million. Armstrong was a UFA which is a totally different situation. There was likely a bidding war.

Agreed on Franson but I doubt it's over 2.

Elliot signed that contract last week.

edit: Also, Reimer got that extension based on the fact that he played well the entire time in the NHL. One good month and two bad years isn't going to get Gustavsson the same contract. Reimer's also 4 years younger.

I guess he's noticed the PP with him out.. good signing though, one less thing to worry about in the offseason. Hopefully it's not for 4.5+.

Good afternoon. I'm on a bit late today...CRAZY busy this morning.

What'd I miss?

I didn't see the 1st period and a half of last night...turned it on at 2-0 NYI, but the way Toronto played the last half of the 2nd period I had a feeling they'd be able to get back in the game.

Terrible about that stupid bounce right out in front at the end of the game. Gus probably should have had it, but at the same time was probably just as surprised as everyone else that the puck was right there.
