Dare I say, RJ (and it goes without saying, Harry) has been awful this year. Names constantly screwed up, generally misinformed on rules, and uninspired.
The evil of Sylvester has nothing to do with RJ. When he guy gets "excited," he sounds like he's pushing out a dump.

I've hated Ole fat tongued Sylvester from day one.
He sucks calling the game, he sucks during the intermissions, he has zero hockey knowledge, was beat up as a kid, and I pray Rob Ray punches him in the face everytime he talks.

Yeah RJ hasn't been as good. He's getting old man. The crappy season doesn't help. I'd be surprised if he calls past this season.

Pete Weber has a 'hockey voice' if there is such a thing. It's distinctive. He's really into the game and he just flat out calls an accurate, entertaining game.
Plus if he ever came to Buffalo he wouldn't have to deal with those lame-ass mustard 3rd Pred's jersey.
