I like him, but he's someone that is actually wanted by teams with his contract ending...and hey, maybe he'll just re sign with us at the end of the season for less than a mil |

Always liked Goose, but he's part of the problem. Sure he's good at faceoffs... but we're essentially shorthanded with him on the ice he's so slow. As for "leadership" qualities, he's just another one of the guys who can't get himself going, let alone the rest of the team. |

If the Sabres actually do intend to trade Miller away. We should go after Ben Bishop and then use him for the rest of the season so he becomes an RFA instead of a UFA. He's supposedly NHL ready and the Blues have no need for him. He could probably be had.
I don't really have faith in Enroth as a full time starter. |

you are right we should probably lock him up for 10 years at 4 mil per right now before he hits the open market and gets picked up for 2 years at 2 mil |

Early on, too early, Goose was touted the future captain of the team. Over the past few seasons he has had every opportunity to step up and be that leader. This team was screaming in stereo for someone to step up. He didn't.
Do I like him? Yes.
Is he a good role player on a talented team? Yes.
Do we fit that bill? Nope.
Would I be upset if he were traded at the deadline for a pick? Yes.
Would I get over it? Quickly. |

not sure about ben, haven't ever watched him but i would have to say a goalie combo of Bishop and Enroth would be classic.. if only gerbe played defense and was paired with myers |

If we sell and i really think we should.. goose is one of the players that could get us something.. he would be a great 4th line center on a team looking to solidify their lineup and get better at the faceoff dot. |

You lost me. Why would he be an RFA if we acquired him instead of a UFA? Or am I misreading your post? |

"Under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement, Bishop will become an unrestricted free agent after this season, unless he plays 30-plus minutes in 17 NHL games this season. If he somehow manages to hit that threshold, he'll be a restricted free agent."
That's why I believe we could get him on the cheap because unless they move him, they lose him for nothing.
I would imagine that Tampa would be a team that is real interested in acquiring him. |

he is an rfa at the end of the year
25 year old goalie
6 games in the nhl
seems to be a .900 save guy and .28 something GAA wherever he plays
3rd rd pick
depth move, nothing more, nothing less IMO
