Well, it makes perfect sense that the game end on a rush due to a turnover from yet another blatant takedown. This was the worst case of whistles in the pocket I've seen this year.
- keaner17

Figures it was Grabovski. I think he scored the goal (no, MacArthur), less than 10 seconds after he clearly interfered with Moulson and knocked him to the ice, leading to 2-on-1 in the first place.

Just a little steamed right now. This is a one-line team. It has been all season long. If even one other line was doing anything, we'd be above .500 going into the break.

There was an instance where JT cross checked Phaneuf in the back 3 times after the whistle. Pretty obvious that's what they're referring to.

Great game. Refs were fair.

Isles got away with just as much as Toronto did.

Tavares got away with cross-checking Komisarek in the back 3 times, and there were tons of high sticking, tripping and hooking calls that they didnt call on both sides.

Stop being biased.

Yuck it up.

Then go watch a replay of the first period.

It happened. Deal with it.

While I feel your pain... trust me when I say this, there has been MANY nights this year when Leafs fans were wondering WTF was going on with the refs.

Dear Garth Snow,

after watching every game this season on NHL center ice, I've decided to do you a favor and offer my services to this team as it's clear that there is plenty of room for improvement past the first line. I will sign a contract at the league minimum and even bring my own equipment (although it is goalie gear)

I have no professional ice hockey experience and have been playing for fun in recreational leagues on and off since I was 16, but mostly ball or roller hockey. That being said, I'll be a good quote and I have my own jersey.

I would prefer to play goalie but its clear that you're in desperate need of help everywhere, so I'll play wherever the muppet you have coaching says I can play. I figure at least the third line, since Brian Rolston has been playing 2nd and 3rd line wing all year, and I won't even ask for power play time, and I'll hustle and backcheck like a fiend although I can't skate backwards well, so don't play me on defense HA!

I'm sure if you can afford to pay Brian Rolston 5 million dollars a season I'll be a much better deal, because I'll stand in front of the net and watch my linemates work the corners, and I'm sure I could hit an empty net as well if you want to play me late in a game.

I'd prefer not to play friday or saturday night as those are date nights, but a lot of your players don't show up to games so I think this is a reasonable offer.

Please respond whenever is convenient, if I don't pick up the phone immediately it's likely because I'm trying to improve my kill:death ratio on battlefield 3, but I will call you back as soon as the round is over

yours truly,
Isles since 6

Yes of course it all evens out in the end yadda yadda yadda. While I accept the fact that everyone gets screwed by the refs eventually, I also do believe that certain teams do get the shaft more often than others. It's a known fact to players around the league that less successful franchises tend to get less respect from officals and therefore may get the shaft more often. Meanwhile teams like Detroit, Pittsburgh or Boston may get a few more calls their way due to stature. Now honestly I can only say I've seen four or five games this year where the calls were grossly biased however tonight was one of those nights. FOUR highsticks. A crosscheck to our star players head away from the puck. A blatant interference that led to the oddman rush on the winning goal. Yes, it happens to everyone, but the degree at which it happened tonight is a bit hard for anyone to deny. Sure the trolls will say it was't that bad, but wow....all that poope and not one powerplay?

So finally the islanders get a taste of poor officiating? welcome to the leafs and every other teams world, it works both ways so cry about it tonight and then get over it

You old enough to remember our playoff series from about 10 years ago?

You think the Isles get calls? You have us confused with the other NY team. I'm not going to overly whine about it because I'm used to it. You're lying to yourself if you don't think Grabovski interfered with Moulson, which directly lead to the game winner.

Oh wow, a playoff series 10 years ago! As a fan, you whine about the calls (that go both ways, I might add) and then you suck it up. I didn't say grabo didn't do that, I'm saying non-calls happened to both teams, so stop harping over how "the leafs get away with everything, league's favourites" etc.
