let me defend myself a bit...

A. Thomas is making 5 mill a year this year and next.. not many teams can afford him. Sell High? to who? Who can afford him?
B. I don't care who we have coming up (Poulin, Koskinen, Nillson, Al, etc.). TT is by far better than all of these options right now and We lose most of our games by getting out Goaltended.. period. Having TT for the next year and 1/2 allows those guys to continue to develop.
C. If we get TT it allows us to trade nabby.

it is not as dumb as you idiots think

If Thomas leaves Boston, it won't have anything to do with this ridiculous incident but more that he's getting rather old and the team may want to sell high. Personally I thought it was refreshing to hear someone say BOTH political parties SUCK!

I would have to do with them needing to make a decsion between a 37 year old making 5 mill a year and a 25 year old RFA very very good goalie (Rask). This incident is just giving them their "OUT" to make a move. How else can u justify trading a 2 time Vezina trophy winner and current conn Smythe holder. They will use this non event to run him out of town.... Boston's favorite past time with sports heroes.

I love what you are thinking. I do like Tim Thomas for past few seasons. I would love to have him on our team. He will be an upgrade. I don't care if he didn't want to go to white house. He is an adult who has a right to make his own decision. If anyone doesn't like what he did, they are entitled to their own opinion. I was at the game last night and it was a great time despite refs' lack of calls. I felt that we, the fans, were the refs who pointed at missed calls. John Tavares is a beast and is unbelievable . He really can do wonders with the puck. I know that we should have drafted Kassian. It is already done so no need to live in the past. Let's move on forward and trade STreit to Bruins for Tim Thomas. If we want Dougie Hamilton and Tim Thomas. Would they accept a first round pick and Streit for Dougie Hamilton and Tim Thomas? Nabakov to a team for a 2 or 3rd round pick?

Considering the team is 27th in the league in goals for, I'd say it's more of an issue of putting the puck in the net.

Can we give up on the Tim Thomas stuff already! There's no way that's happening. The Isles are not going to trade for another goaltender who happens to be 37 years old and making big money. In addition, Boston's not going to trade Hamilton. I'd be willing to be the house that neither Thomas or Hamilton get traded this year.

Yeah, he's said it about three different ways in 10 minutes. Told fans in Montreal to 'rejoice, he's on th emove', said Montreal will 'announce a Gomez move as he's done in Montreal" then said something before the end of the break. The next tweet may say 'signing an extension'

At least 50% of our losses this year you can point to a soft Goal. feel free to look at the recaps on the isles site. We don't get blown out in most games. The 1 goal games we have Montoya letting in a couple from the top of the circle, Nabby doing his DP impression out of the net, or some other soft goal. Has our goaltending been horrible.. no.. but in my opinion in the NHL today teams are closer than most really understand. 1 soft goal a game makes a huge difference. If you have a top 10 goalie instead of a bottom 10 (or back up) it would make a tremendous difference. Do we need more scoring? yes of course we do... but we need better goaltending too.

watch those tapes and you'll see Streit AMAC Eaton Staois Reese and Jurcina constantly having breakdowns or being out of postion...i can guarentee that those blunders triple the ammount of soft goals...

personally I believe that the Boston team and their system, as well as having Zdeno Chara on the ice 30 minutes a night, has made soon to be 38 year old Tim Thomas look a lot better than he actually is.

Probably the last thing in the world the Islanders need is a goalie at his age with his me first attitude.

I'm starting my own rumor mill blog right here...
"New York Islanders Trading For Jesus"
Bumper stickers on Long Island will say "Jesus Saves!" but it will now be referring to their newest goaltender. He'll reportedly take the bulk of goaltending duties as DiPietro plays every seventh day (JC likes to rest just like his pop). To obtain Christ, the Isles will give up Brian Rolston, who ironically has heard JC's name everytime he touches the puck, future considerations which may include Wang attending the same Sunday Masses where fans have asked God for a team sale and a slow painful death to Mike Milbury. The Isles will also reportedly get compensation from God for the defective body of their goaltender for life Rick DiPietro (consider it like warranty coverage). JC will join the team on Monday...he's kinda busy Sunday. E5

Just reporting what my sources are telling me. It's too early to determine who wins on that deal but JC's ability to live forever may make agreeing to contract terms difficult. Stay tuned....

Thomas was unreal and still is one of the best in the league. It's that reason alone that the B's won't let him go. This team is very much on course to make a run for a second consectuve Cup, so I seriously doubt they'd do something like trade their playoff MVP from last year.
