I didn't expect Buffalo to be a cup contender but I certainly expected them to be a playoff team. I am really shocked at just how bad the team has been this year. |

I'd still love to see Roenick's name in the paper after getting rolled while walking to his car some night. |

So I guess that applies to Chicago as well, Edmonton too? Fact is, more times than not, there is quality player waiting there and not an Alexandre Daigle. Will the player be as good as a Crosby or Malkin, probably not but that doesn't mean they wont be a long term franchise impact player.
The Sabres like the Bills decided for a long time to not actively pursue winning to the best of their abilities, unfortunately they did not actively pursue losing either. What you have is incredible mediocrity that is stuck in time. You have to do one or the other, but you can't sit in the middle and wish upon a lucky star. - Gunner Staal

Personally I'm not buying into this at all Kept..
I think what happened was once the ship started taking on water everyone on the entire team grabbed ahold instead of everyone grabbing a bucket. |

2. respectable; worthy: a decent family.
3. adequate; fair; passable: a decent wage.
4. kind; obliging; generous: It was very decent of him to lend me his watch.

I agree, but he is a good player. He does eat up a lot of minutes, and our defense did go from bad to worst when he went out. I don't think Ehrhoff is the problem, but he has to be part of the solution (according to his contract term.) |

totally agree...talent with compete level is usually found in the top picks of the draft...
the sabres have managed to combine players with talent but no compete as well as players who comptete but have no talent...
i blame the great gazoo

This season is great. We may finally draft in a good spot for the first time since drafting Vanek. That should help.
And on a personal note, at the beginning of the season I was #1,852 in line for a second set of season tickets. A 15th place finish moves me up a lot more than a 5th-8th finish. |

I think the key is the sabres over evaluate their own talent, since briere and drury walked. For the most part they refuse to part with any player as long as they feel there is some potential. The trickle down fall out from this is some players that had potential, googs, zags, etc, never got a shot.
Does that mean that zags was the solution, no.
I am sure we would do no worse with googs and zags on the 3rd line instead of boyes and whoever is playing wing that night.
I blame Sam Shalestone |
