Giroux should have taken the penalty shot in the Winter Classic. Sometimes Laviolette makes some very odd decisions.
- PLindbergh31

What makes that choice even worse. Giroux had 2 breakaways in the Winter Classic. One he scored on. You would think Giroux had more of a feel of King Hank.

There's been a lot of great Flyers, but Tocchet's gotta be my alltime favorite!

Conversely, King Hank should have had more of a feel on Giroux. Briere is a good shootout player and earned the PS. Rewarding your player with ice-time/opportunities goes a long way.

Did they just win a shoot out?

In Florida?

I think the Mayans were right, 2012 is the end.

296 wins says plenty. That's more than one good season.

Franchise leader in Reg Season and playoff victories. Vezina, Conn Smythe, 2 trips to the finals, 2 goals. Nuff said.

Briere wasn't a bad choice, but Roo is ridiculous on PS's. Sometimes it seems to me that he dekes the tender into the corner.

Still loving the Bob dance

The kid is so confident right now, you gotta think the rest of the Flyers are just as confident in his game.

Simply awesome.

Last 13 games he's only been below a .900 save percentage once and that was last week against the Islanders in a game I thought he played awesome.

I still can't get over the 2nd goal on him last night, 3 Panthers and no Flyers to be found anywhere Lava's head must have almost popped off

I think the back hand move is in the goalies head and once the goalie over commits he brings it back. forehand and your done.

He is now 7 for 20 on shoot outs I believe after last night.

Hell even their first goal on the PP (which in my opinion was a terrible call).. Bob makes 2 huge saves.. the second was insane, and the Flyers players looked about as scatterbrained as possible.

The thing that G does so well (and something Datsyuk does even better) is mixes up speed and uses his blades to steer him.. their chests are always square to the goalie which allows them to quickly move in damn near any direction

Yeah, when you've got the tender guessing.. big advantage for you. Roo, just patiently walks in..moves one way and the goalie overcommits..

That's gotta be tough, I thought he was going backhand so I would have been swimming in the corner like Clemmenson

Well the goalie has to be the best penalty killer they say, I'd venture to guess Bob is doing just that.

Would have been nice to get the healthy Versteeg last year.

The guy is menace on the ice, he doesn't stop. I thought he was the best player on the ice last night.

Shows you how injuries can effect a player.

Maybe people should think about this when they rip JVR.
