As fun as The Bob Shuffle was, this is just damned filthy.

skill2burn. It's why he's my favorite current Flyer and moving into the top 5 with a bullet.

He went with that move tonight and let JV take his patented backhand move. JV had it. Just a bit too high.

Giroux should have taken the penalty shot in the Winter Classic. Sometimes Laviolette makes some very odd decisions.

if jake's shot had dropped into the net, it would have counted.

Not saying he would have definitely scored, but he had a goal in the game, and he's the Flyers best player, I'm always putting the puck or ball in the hands of my best player when the game is on the line.

I'm not getting overly excited. Things can change in a heartbeat. I watch a lot of Canucks hockey too. Luongo struggled for a bit and Schneider was lights out for two weeks straight. It's Luongo's net again though and Schneider's watching. But Luongo and Schneider have a good relationship. I'm not sure what the situation is between Bryz and Bob.

coatesy: you won a shootout!

lavvy: yeah we threw some chairs together at the meal room today and got some stick balls and hockey and we practiced our moves and it really paid of today.

he is. that dude is locked in like a mofo. can't debate this and spare me the level of opponent bs.
- hammarby31

No question. I haven't seen anyone bring up the quality of opponents. That is utter nonsense.

Flyers need both guys to play well. Bryzgalov had played two solid games prior to Boston so perhaps he's on the uptick.

Detroit is 20-2-1 at home and 13-13-0 on the road. Interesting.

Did he say that? Why not at the end of every practice split the team in half, and have each goalie face a breakaway. That would literally take 5 minutes.

17 game home winning streak, 3 short of the NHL record.

that wasn't a response to the original post, but referring to the conversation a few days ago about bob facing lesser opponents.

i agree they'll need both. i'm rooting for bryz.

their practices are usually only 30-40 mins. i can understand why they'd be working on the rest of their game.

There is no such thing as lesser opponents. The home game against the Islanders is a prime example. Bobrovsky was fantastic in that game and the Flyers lost 4-1. If the entire team isn't ready to play on a given night, a team can lose to anyone. This is pro sports.

.500 isn't terrible on the road, it's not good for the Wings, but if they are going to be this good at home they can be average on the road.

Yeah, true. Can't practice it every practice with travel and everything else. I despise the shootout, but it's nice when they win one. It's part of the NHL rules, and it won't be changing anytime soon, so might as well try and improve at it.

Very odd. Wish I had an answer for why. They haven't been good at home from the middle of last year until now. Hovering around .500.
