I never said it would offend anyone. I said if a christian doesnt wanna go to synagogue, he shouldnt have to go. He doesnt believe in that, which is just another reason that person has to offer as an explanation.

If Thomas didnt wanna go because he would miss his favorite cartoon.. so be it.

- jak521

I agree with you. If he doesn't want to go it's his business. I just don't understand his objection to going. I read his statement and I didn't understand what his objections to the US Goverment in general had to do with going to an awards assembly.

I had no intention of this turning into a religious discussion. You made the statement and I honestly had no idea that people felt this way. I'm not a religious person, but I've taken a few religion classes in college. I read both the New and Old testaments. I still don't understand why a synagogue would offend a Christian.

Can you imagine if he performs like he is now in the playoffs?
- PLindbergh31

It'd be a short lived performance, one way or another.

Very possibly. I still think it has more to do with the risk of the sport. It might be possible that no insurance company would cover her for this activity or if they would the premiums might have been too much for her to afford.

“The irony is,” that had the accident occurred in Canada, “her care would have been covered because, unlike the U.S., Canada has a system of universal coverage,”author and former insurance executive Wendell Potter noted Monday in the Huffington Post.

Didn't you just say TT handled this bad?

He handled this with class and dignity. And he did what none of us has the backbone to do. He stood up for his beliefs that our government has gotten out of control.

And it has.

- archion113

No I said I didn't understand his reasoning. Why can't he object to the government and still go to an awards assembly?

Where in the hour long discussion did I say it is offensive. My family is Christian. My Uncle married a Jew. My cousin, who is more like a brother and is in my wedding, is Christian but has been to both, as have I. I only used it loosely as an example. Never once did I say it was be offensive.

My point was that, if one does not believe in something they should be allowed to deny attending something against their belief.

Well, the mass public and two political parties that in this day and age are engaged in a day by day, hour by hour, second by second media war. The only political suggestion I wish to make is that politics have become far more vitriolic and ungentlemanly in the past fifty years or so, and the booming increases in media technology are a huge factor. So to speak, there is no blow too low, no headline nor suggestion off limits.

I disagree. It has always been a dirty, nasty game.

Totally off topic (HOW COULD I!!) but this is a shame.... It may be blasphemous but I always liked Musser's voice. Hearing it always said Summer to me.

Even if you travel our basic health plans offer "some" form of coverage. My next door neighbor had a surfing accident in Hawaii two summers ago. Fractured his neck and had to be air ambulanced back to Vancouver. Over $250,000 for everything he said. He didn't have to pay anything. Now, he probably had extra-out of country medical insurance too, but so should have Sarah. Unless the companies said no or the premiums were too high and she took the risk anyway. There is no way you do that sport without looking into ALL insurance possibilities. I doubt she would have been fully covered even if the accident occurred in Canada.

I can't wait to use some of those old school insults. Can you be banned on HB for calling someone the son of a half-breed Indian squaw?

i get what you're saying, but i'm confused by your language. just because someone may be christian, doesn't mean they're against judaism, and therefore wouldn't go into a synagogue. could be muslim, or hindi...whatever. i think the religious example isn't a good one.

I shouldnt have said "against".. probably should have just said.. because it is not their religious beliefs".

I am not implying that one is against a religion.

I hope its Bryz. He played very well against the Panthers last time around.

Hope the guys come out with the same intensity as Sunday.
