Well, the mass public and two political parties that in this day and age are engaged in a day by day, hour by hour, second by second media war. The only political suggestion I wish to make is that politics have become far more vitriolic and ungentlemanly in the past fifty years or so, and the booming increases in media technology are a huge factor. So to speak, there is no blow too low, no headline nor suggestion off limits.

You think it doesn't. Thats not his beliefs.

How unamerican of you to try and tell someone else how to handle their beliefs

Do Christians really believe that it would be a compromise of their religious beliefs to go to a Synagogue? That hasn't been my experience.

I'm assuming because the accident happened in the US and perhaps there are limitation to coverage outside of Canada?
- nastyflyergirl

I was teasing the Canadians a little with the comment... my mother owns her own medical billing company and i hear from her how many foreignors come here for our health care.

I always laugh when i read a report saying we're dead last in health care... cause we all know for a fact that people come from all over the world to get treated in America.

Philly is a huge location for a lot of outsiders to seek medical help. When my dad had his defib put in about 6 years ago, there was a British guy and a Canadian guy there recieving the same treatment. They paid cash.

Thats not what I am saying. You can focus on the semantics of my example, or you can focus on the larger picture. My point is that someone who is against one religion SHOULDNT have to go a place of worship in that opposed religion. Can they go? Its up to them? Should they HAVE to go? No, IMO, they shouldnt.

unless of course people see you as endorsing those beliefs. Thats my point. Would Tim Thomas want to be in a commercial endorsing President Obama? Even though an event like the one yesterday, and a commercial are on two totally different spectrums, they both are used politically to sway voters. Im not being biased here. It would be that way no matter who was in office.
- jak521

Didn't you say being a man was standing up for what you represent no matter what others think? Why would a real man care if others thought he was endorsing Obama? He knew he was just going to an awards ceremony. He knows he doesn't endorse the current government.

Bryz can stand behind Bob... Bob can track the shooters and cover the bot of the net...

Its amazing how much faster bob looks than Bryz. Bryz looks like he's in slowmotion most of the time

To bring it full circle back onto hockey, I'd like to contrast how hockey media can have what levity is lost on politics. In particular, I think to the 2010 offseason, in which we dealt Dan Hamhuis' rights to the Penguins. A reporter saw Paul Holmgren and Ray Shero speak, and asked Shero what they'd spoken about. His response? "Put Fred Shero in the hall!"

Not sure which part about my comment you needed explanation on but I'll give you a slightly detailed explanation.
Bill just gives analysis not funny satirical remarks. If I want to hear that crap which the guy from gcobb.com said I'll go to a taproom, Barbershop or gulp tune into WIP. I'm sorry but I can't see why someone needs to rip the guy because he has a personality or watches something on TV other than whatever mainstream garbage is continually shoved down our throats further diminishing our limited intelligence.

- JoeRussomanno

Ok. I agree with you about Bill 100%. But I appreciate Josh's commentary on GCobb. He usually has a slightly different perspective on things. I value him and Bill because of their different points of view away from CSN/ESPN type of news. Same with the BSH guys.

Semantics? No person can be forced to believe a religion he or she doesn't believe in. I'm still unclear how going to a church or synagogue or mosque could offend anyone regardless of their beliefs?

I'm more baffled than offended. This concept has never even occured to me. Why would it be offensive for a Christian to go into a church or vice versa?

"I believe the Federal government has grown out of control, threatening the Rights, Liberties, and Property of the People.

This is being done at the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial level. This is in direct opposition to the Constitution and the Founding Fathers vision for the Federal government.

Because I believe this, today I exercised my right as a Free Citizen, and did not visit the White House. This was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country. This was about a choice I had to make as an INDIVIDUAL.

This is the only public statement I will be making on this topic.

I still don't understand why you guys are upset...

I never said it would offend anyone. I said if a christian doesnt wanna go to synagogue, he shouldnt have to go. He doesnt believe in that, which is just another reason that person has to offer as an explanation.

If Thomas didnt wanna go because he would miss his favorite cartoon.. so be it.
